Six have sold six on Ebay so far. I have the largestsingle collection of Chrysler Town and Country Convertibles. I am not a dealer and have collectedthese nifty convertibles since the late 90's. They have been stored inside for most of their life; In 1983 only 1520 of these landmark cars were made. As of 2002 only 49 were in the ChryslerRegistry. This year 1983 is the only year with a roadster coach style top with no back roll up side windows. The rest of the years 1984 to 1986 had back seat quarter windows. . The factory offered them in Pearle White, Dark Sable Brown and Black. Black being the rarest. Topswere available in black or white. I bought the car at a Mecham Auction on December 6, 2003 in Kansas City. It was originally brought from California to Michigan and to Kansas City. I believe I am the third owner. I never drove thecar over 50 miles until I put it in storage with the rest of my collection . It has been stored inside for ten yearsthis December.6th. I am selling the 1983's first and then onto the rest. I have only one black 1983. The car, setting solong, needed some TLC. On all cars setting this length of time the gas sours and goes bad. The moisture inthe gas promotes rust in the tank. Gas tanks have to be removed , boiled out, or replaced with a new one.I opted to buy a new tank as the price was not much more.. It required a new battery, fuel pump and filterand the idle adjustment on the carburator. I sent the car to a clean up shop that details, cleans and paints underneath. There was some surface scratchesand some areas that needed touch up. All this was done and the car looks great especially with the wood thatstands out. The dynoc wood is good as is the trim which could need a little touch up. The leather seats are good as is the carpets. The like new top has one small blemish that can be fixed and does not leak.I have not checked the radio or AC. The AC may need freon. I am ask by many buyers if they can drive the car across country. My answer is "I don't know". It runs fine here but a30 year old car can have problems after setting all this time. It is NOT advisable to drive an antique car across countryuntil you drive it short distances around town and get to know it. Many things can happen, belts. hoses, radiator, brakescan stick, head gasket, timing chain, or maybe nothing. What I am saying is I WOULD NOT ADVISE DRIVING ANYCLASSIC CAR ACROSS COUNTRY IF YOU DON'T KNOW IT AND HAVE NOT DRIVEN IT ALOT. IT IS CHEAPERAND SAFER TO HAUL THE CAR, GET FAMILIAR WITH IT AND START TAKING SHORT TRIPS.AT FIRST. IF YOUHAVE TO TOW THIS CAR OFF THE HIGHWAY AND SPEND SEVERAL DAYS IN A SMALL TOWN FIXING IT YOUWILL NOT SAVE MONEY. This car is not show room new, but it is very presentable, more so than most cars it's age. I have spent time and money getting this vehicle running and looking good. I have a low reserve because I need to sell these cars before winter or payto store them. I want the car to find a good home. I can't drive 30 of them. It will sell far below it's worth and far below what other sellers on Ebay are asking for similiar cars. It is a uniqueand fun car that evokes the nostalgia of the 40's but drives like a modern car. I do not remember seeing another black car of this kind on Ebay.It is sharp ! A non-refundable $ 500.00 deposit is required on Ebay and the balance within 7 days. No warranty or guarantee comeswith the car. It is sold "as-is" . The car is 30 years old and is being sold at a bargain. It's a great way to get a collectorcar to cruise weekends, or to drive daily. You will not see any around unless you live next door to me. The car can beinspected and driven here in Kansas City by calling Wade Williams 816-943-0855. All sales final. Shipping or pick up at zip code 64145.must be arranged by buyer. Once these cars are gone, they are gone. If you want one of these cars at a bargain , now is the time.
