1966 Ford Mustang in excellent condition. The Mustang is equipped with its original 289 V8 matched with an automatic transmission. All components of the engine and transmission remain stock and the overall performance is exceptional. The Mustang is very reliable with a solid running engine and flawless shifting transmission. The Mustang is serviced regularly and well maintained with 59,317 original miles. The body of the Mustang is very straight with no rust or significant filler repair. As noted on the attached video, the Mustang was professional refreshed with attention to body work and a high quality paint. During the refreshing process, the body was sanded to original metal and any area containing rust or damage was corrected using high grade metal and finished to factory specifications. Overall, the Mustang displayed very little rust or damage and served as a good candidate for the upgrades. The majority of the chrome trim pieces were upgraded and new weather stripping was installed. All body parts align well providing for a solid body with proper function of the doors, hood, and trunk lid. The floor remains solid and was professionally treated with POR-15 in an effort to maintain a uniform and solid floor. The basic steel wheels with hub cap were removed and upgraded with factory rally styled wheels which include the Mustang center cap and beauty rings. The wheels are mounted with solid tires with plenty of thread remaining. A functional luggage rack was installed enhancing the overall appearance of the Mustang. The interior of the Mustang remains in stock condition with firm front bucket seats and rear bench. The seats are firm and free of cracks or tears. Interior upgrades include a new headliner, carpet, and refurbished original center console. The center console is functional with correct automatic shifter bezel and working courtesy lights. A new high quality dash pad was installed which matches well with the clean appearance of the dash board. The dash board includes all factory components except for an upgraded radio with a stock appearance. All gauges are functional along with all electrical components. The Mustang is equipped with factory A/C but will have to be serviced and fitted with the corresponding belts. Overall, the interior remains original and functional with good chrome, door panels, handles, and trim. The engine bay is clean with all correct parts, accessories and decals. The engine is equipped with its original carburetor and all factory installed equipment. All replacement parts were purchased to match original specifications and appearance. Some upgrades include spark plug wires, rotor, distributor cap, battery, and regulator. The engine bay was detailed to include the repaint of the original valve covers and air cleaner. This Mustang served as a candidate in a TV reality show where a particular car is selected and restored for its owner. Although efforts are underway to secure a production company to televise the show, the attached video (which has been compressed from its original 30 minute segment) illustrates the detail and labor that went into the restoration of this Mustang. The Mustang has been featured at several local car shows and publications. It is an exceptional Mustang with a classic and nostalgic appearance that represents the American Car.
