Vehicle Detail

* 1979 Chevrolet K5 Blazer 4WD 4 Speed * Before you and up for bid is my 1979 Chevrolet K5 Blazer. In the family since new, it was originally purchased in West Texas to be used by family & friends at a summer mountain residence in Colorado. The Blazer was ordered specifically with a 4 speed manual transmission. These K5's are quite rare and very desirable with this configuration. A garage and pampered, non-smoker, no accident history, no pets, no rodents...it is very clean throughout. ONLY 71,441 documented actual miles from new! The K5 was ordered and is equipped as follows: * Cheyenne Pkg. * 350 C.I. V8 * 4 Speed manual transmission, 1st is actually a low or "granny" gear, for normal driving one simply starts off in 2nd. * 4WD * Locking Differentials * Tow Package * Fuel Tank Skid Plate * Factory Air Conditioning * Delco Am/Fm Stereo * Chrome Grill (since replaced) * Cool Ray Tinted Glass * Power windows * Power Locks * Tilt Steering Wheel * Passenger Door Mirror * 31 Gallon Fuel Tank * Fold Down Rear Seat * Power Steering, power disc brakes * Custom Red Vinyl Interior * Removable Hard Top At 34 years of age, the K5 continues to run excellent. Always properly (overly) maintained, it has never let us down. Being that the Blazer has spent a good portion of its life in Texas and Colorado, there is ZERO RUST. The truck was repainted in its original factory burgundy in the mid 90's. It still presents with a very nice luster. (see pics) One can go around the entire truck with magnets: the fenders, doors, rockers, quarter panels, hood, tailgate. Wherever the magnets are placed...they adhere. This is a very solid truck throughout with none of the inherent rust issues common to most K5's. Naturally, there is some wear from its 34 years, however, the Blazer still shows remarkably well. The original grill was replaced with the custom billet. It was the recipient of an errant golf club...don't ask. The rear bumper has a slight tweak at the upper left. The summer it appeared, a few family members had used the K5. No one recalled how it happened...no one fessed up. (For those wondering...yes, the Blazer is "EMP proof".) There are NO annoying drips or leaks. The clutch engages with no difficulty, the 4 speed shifts smoothly through all gears including reverse. The synchro's are all good. The 4WD operates properly in all ranges, Factory Spicer hubs. The AC compressor engages, however, it is only marginally cool. The compressor was replaced once, the system has not been retrofitted. The factory Delco radio is somewhere in the barn. It was replaced many years ago with a period correct Pioneer SuperTuner! There are 4 speakers as well as a booster & graphic equalizer. It still sounds great for an "old skool" stereo. All glass is original, there are no chips or cracks. The windows are power and work accordingly from both doors. The tires are recent with very good tread...all 4 were purchased at the same time. There is a full size spare mounted in the cargo area with a cover, it too, is mounted on a white Appliance spoke wheel. The factory bottle jack and tire tool are located in the provision under the hood. Original keys, owners manual, supplemental pamphlets & service history. The interior of the K5 is in good original condition. * The dash has only one small crack. * Nice steering wheel, no cracks. * Good carpet throughout with a wear spot on the drivers side. * Nice upholstery, front & rear with only two small tears in the lower driver bolster. They are in the same section and therefore a piece of vinyl could easily be sewn in or closed up with a Dr. Vinyl type repair service. * Decent door, rear side & kick panels * Good headliner * All weather stripping is soft and pliable * All equipment, safety features (lights, wipers, flashers, directionals) and gauges are fully operational except for the clock. It only tells the correct time twice each day. The Super Tuner however, does have a clock. Very good heat, defrost, fan, etc. * All buttons, stalks, knobs, etc., are present. * The tail gate window does roll up and down, however, the crank handle is cast and a small piece of it just cracked during the detail. I have located a new one and this will be rectified for the new owner. * The tail gate opens & closes properly once the window has been lowered. * The power locks work from both doors. All K5 Blazer, Chevrolet & Cheyenne badges are present. Recent service included fresh fluids, belts, hoses, battery and brake service with the rotors being turned and new pads. The K5 still looks, runs and drives great. With the manual transmission it actually gets decent fuel mileage. It starts with the first turn of the key...every time. It holds a nice idle and accelerates well. It will cruise all day at 70 mph. You are bidding to purchase the K5, not to be the first to, "look at it". Please have your funding in place prior to placing your bid. Thank you. Please consult with your spouse, therapist, pet or Magic 8-Ball prior to placing your bid as I am not running a clinic for the confused. Thank you. I have set a very reasonable and affordable reserve for the Blazer. DO NOT ask me what the reserve is, as I will not disclose it. Bid what you can afford and are willing to pay for a decent, one family owned, very low mileage, accident & rust free...1979 K5 4WD 4-speed Blazer. If you are new to eBay, have 0% or excessive negative feedback history, you will need to call me and express your intentions PRIOR to placing your bid, otherwise, your bid will be cancelled. I require that the winning bidder contact me by phone within 24 hours to discuss further arrangements. I strive to represent the condition of a vehicle honestly & accurately. Recently I sold my 1965 Sport Fury 383 Commando. This was an unrestored original car. Despite the winning bidder having purchased the car for well back of actual collector car value, his expectations were entirely unrealistic for a 47 year old automobile. I have represented the K5 honestly and accurately. Unfortunately, interpretations are sometimes open to ambiguity. Almost always, those that have purchased my vehicles have had their expectations exceeded and are pleased with their cars. Inspections are welcomed and will be facilitated to the best of my ability prior to the auction concluding. Buyers from the U.S., Canada, the UK, Europe, Austrailia and New Zealand are welcome and encouraged to bid with confidence. An initial $1000.00 payment is due VIA PayPal within 24 hours of auction close. The balance is then due and payable within 7 days thereafter under condition and arrangement made between myself and the buyer. I prefer that the balance be paid VIA a legitimate bank to bank wire transfer as it provides a documented record of the transaction for both parties. I will only accept PayPal for the entire purchase amount if the buyer pays ALL PayPal related fees. (approx. $30.00 per $1000.00) Shipping and or delivery is the sole responsibility of the buyer. Trailered delivery is possible in the lower 48 states for $1000.00. (non-negotiable) I will gladly assist to coordinate with your chosen carrier or can recommend a reputable shipper for you, if needed. The Blazer and I are located in the Colorado Springs vicinity. The Blazer is entirely roadworthy. I am confident that it could be driven home to anywhere in America. If you elect to fly in and drive home, I will gladly pick you up from the airport in Colorado Springs. eBay only provides for 24 pictures. I have selected pictures that best present a concise overview of the Blazer. If you would like any area specific pictures, simply request them. I answer my phone quicker than I respond to e-mail, call me directly with any questions. If you would like to discuss a "buy it now", call me and present your offer. DO NOT call and ask me..."what's the lowest that you'll take?" Thanks for looking and good luck when you bid! Jeff 719.492.1234, c
