SPECS: 5.3 Vortec gasoline V8, 285hp 4 speed automatic with OD Rear wheel drive with traction control 139,672 miles on the odometer Cloth interior Power drivers seat, power mirrors, power locks, power windows Dual zone a/c Tow package with electric trailer brake controller Cruise control, tilt wheel, AM/FM/CD stereo Thank you for visiting Maryland’s NUMBER ONE R.V. DEALER BECKLEY’S RV’S HAS BEEN NAMED #1 IN MARYLAND FOR THE 12TH YEAR IN A ROW, ACCORDING TO STATISTICAL SURVEYS, INC. ITEM DETAILS: This Avalanche is a nice truck. It’s been driven and has some miles showing on the odometer, but don’t let that scare you. Cars these days last a good long time – I have two vehicles over 220k miles and another pushing 160k and they all do just fine. This one’s Vortec engine starts right up without any noises or smoke, it revs smoothly, the transmission shifts properly, the steering feels good and the brakes have good feel. It’s clean – I didn’t see any rust or dents – and the interior looks good with no rips or tears I could find. There are a couple cigarette burns here and there, but not a lot, and it does NOT smell like smoke inside so my guess is, any smoking was done a long time ago. All the power accessories seem to be in working order. The a/c is nice and cold, the power windows/locks/seats work, it has automatic headlights, fog lights, and the rear view mirror has a compass/thermometer built in and I’m guessing it’s one of those auto-dim mirrors because there’s no “pinball flipper” for you to dim it with. Outside is also really nice, with good paint and no signs of rust or dents. The lower cladding (the gray plastic) could use some of that “color restorer” polish because it has some fading to it, but no damage or nicks. The tires have tread on them, but I’d probably plan to replace the set by springtime if it were mine. The worst part about the exterior? A broken/missing tailgate handle. The only mechanical issue we’ve found on this one is an ever-so-slight rear end noise. It sounds like the pinion bearing is wearing a little bit. I wouldn’t worry about it right away – I used to drag race, and ran a car for a full season while it was making more noise than this, and it never broke. It’s so minor…I could probably get away without telling you its there at all and you’d probably never hear it, but I don’t do business that way so I’m being honest about it. If you crack a window…you don’t hear it. If you turn the radio on (don’t even have to turn it up)…you don’t hear it. It really is minor and may just be a low-fluid condition. I don’t know, but honestly…that’s why this one is so inexpensive for you. Book on an ’03 Avalanche with these miles is nearly eleven grand. We’re selling it for half that. Even if you have to put a grand into a new rear end down the road…you’re still WAY ahead of the game! Now, we’ve had this one listed before and it hasn’t sold. You will note…the BIN price has not changed, and it’s not going to. Here’s why: we inspected it (just like I always say – the longer we have an item here, the more work and $ we put into it…). Here’s what my inspector found that needs fixed to pass the Maryland state inspection: Front rotors LF tire Tag light Front bump stops Headlamps (fogged) Front end alignment …and that’s it. So…we’ve kept the same Buy It Now price, and that price will now INCLUDE the Maryland state inspection and the repairs needed to make the truck pass. If you’re in MD and want to buy it, please be aware…we’ll need some time to make the repairs after we receive your $500 deposit. No work has been done yet, and we have not ordered any parts. We’ll do it as quickly as we can…but it will probably take a couple days to get the parts here and slip it into our busy shop schedule. Our reserve price is lower than the BIN, and is an as-is price for out of state buyers (with no inspection repairs) so you can save some money if you want to do the work yourself. If an out-of-state buyer would like to buy it with the above repairs taken care of…just hit the BIN button and email me IMMEDIATELY to tell me you’d like the work done. If a Maryland bidder wants to bid and play the ‘reserve price’ game…you’re welcome to, but be aware you’ll be responsible for the inspection and repair bill in addition to the winning bid amount. My dealer license does not allow me to sell in-state without it passing inspection, so you will be required to pay for the repair bill up front when you make your deposit. (I’ll give you a hint – you’re better off just hitting the BIN button…) Please note, neither price includes rear end service. The MD inspection / BIN price includes the truck, and the safety inspection items, ONLY. Which is how you’re saving nearly half the book value of the truck. Tax, tag, and title fees are extra (just like anything else you buy in the state of Maryland). If you’re out of state, I don’t charge tax or title fees, and only $20 for a temp tag. The good news is, we’ve now opened this nice truck up to Maryland buyers, and it’s still a GREAT price! Please note my department hours of Monday – Friday, 9am – 6pm (Eastern time) . All my eBay units have a much lower price than full retail, because I pre-negotiate with my boss before I write the listing to get every discount dollar I can for my bidders. Typically our eBay units are sold as-is (unless I note otherwise in the auction), so we can SAVE YOU MONEY. With my listings, it’s like you’re buying it from me out of my driveway – accurately represented, clearly described, as-is, where-is…and MUCH LESS MONEY than “full retail”. The longer we have these units here, the more work we’re going to do to them… we’ll end up with more time and money invested in them (my shop bills $120/hour)…and the prices will go up QUICKLY to the “full retail price” level. So if you want to save some money (don’t we all?) …take advantage of the prices now, before we start putting money and time into the units and making them more expensive. If you have any other questions, check out the FAQ’s page in our eBay store. And if your question isn’t answered there, send me an email and I can get you the answer you need. EMAIL IS ALWAYS THE BEST WAY TO REACH ME, but if you’re the “phone type” you can call 800-296-6959. If I’m not at my desk, leave me a DETAILED voicemail, and I will call you back as soon as I can. When you leave me a message or email, ASK YOUR QUESTIONS. Don’t just say “I have questions”. If you ask the questions up front, I can get answers for you before I get back to you, and that saves time for both of us! I’m a one-man-show here in eBay sales – I take all my own photos. I write all my own ads. I answer all my bidders’ questions personally. But being “one guy” doing all this stuff personally…I’m not at my desk/phone much, and I don’t get to sit still very long at all. I’ll get to you, I promise, but it may take a bit of time. The more information I have up front…the faster it goes for both of us! Please note my department hours of Monday – Friday, 9am – 6pm (Eastern time) . If you’re going to bid, that means you must want to buy. BE PREPARED to spend the amount you’re bidding, because if you win the auction…you’re expected to PAY FOR THE ITEM. (unfortunately, I’m continually surprised by the number of people, even on a site like eBay, who don’t understand the simple concept) Directly from the eBay user agreement that all users agree to when they use eBay: “While using eBay sites, services and tools, you will not fail to deliver payment for items purchased by you, unless the seller has materially changed the item's description after you bid, a clear typographical error is made, or you cannot reach the seller;” My email is ALWAYS available – send me a message!! If any expedited shipping (i.e. overnight documents, etc) is required, any additional charges will be the responsibility of the purchaser. Click HERE for more details. Along the same lines…unfortunately due to space restrictions, I CANNOT PROVIDE STORAGE FOR UNITS. Our lot is tight. We constantly have units coming in…and going out. I simply don’t have secure storage for units to stay here for weeks and weeks after the purchase. We have a seven-day payment policy; we like the units to be picked up when they are paid for. If you need storage for a unit, contact me and I can provide a list of vendors in our area who DO store RV’s. But…we do not store them. Sorry! LINKS: Frequently Asked Questions?
