Hello and welcome to my listing. Offered is an all original 1983 SUZUKI SP500D Enduro Dual-Sport. Big-Bore 500cc thumper with their trademark TSCC technology. You will NEVER ever see it in this condition, mileage is actual at 1,453 will go up a bit since I do ride it. Only thing that are not OEM are aftermarket Progressive shocks. It's sprung for 170 lbs. and a big improvement over stock pieces that completely lost their damping ability. (Update new IRC front tire/inner tube balanced and mounted). Bike was properly stored indoors for a very long time, inner tank clean. Recent items that have been done are the following: Carb complete rebuild and sync, fuel petcock screen cleaned,new plug,oil changed, good battery all bolts torque to specs. Everything works speedo,odo,tach,neutral light,high beam,turn signals and even the horn. I have owned in the past 1978 Yamaha XT 500 and 1981 Honda XL 500, both great bikes but this SP outperformed them. It's 11 lbs. lighter and motor has better low-end torque/punch that carries it to peak power of 38 hp at 6,500 rpm. An amazing collectible bike, with dual shocks/round headlight combo that old school moto riders loved. Even has a compression lever for easier starting, if you don't know how to properly kick a big single look elsewhere. Slick gearbox shifts up/down easily and engine pulls at any rpm. I did take it on the highway and easily hit 75 mph. Cycle World confirmed a top speed of 94 mph radar verified in 5th gear. Article will be included for your reading pleasure. Enduro is super smooth(for a single cylinder) due to dual counterbalancers. We all know this model is very rugged/tough like DR and a 4-wheel equivalent would be a Jeep. Gets 50 mpg great cheap commuter,short sprint around town. It's an unrestored original so there are flaws: Right sidecover a few tiny areas with touch-up paint barely visible, clutch cover black paint peeled-off smaller than size of a dime. The muffler resonator has minor corrosion. Aside from that a beautiful example,turn key and ready to rock n' roll. Factory 300 page Suzuki service manual included and dealer brochure.
