Vehicle Detail

* 1961 FORD GALAXIE Club Victoria Coupe * Before you and up for bid is my original unrestored 1961 Ford Galaxie Club Victoria two door coupe. Not just a Galaxie coupe, but a Club Victoria. A one rancher family owned Kansas/Colorado Galaxie since new. Uncle Wayne has now gone on to his reward and Aunt Lynne will not be driving the Galaxie down memory lane. Therefore, the time has come to find it a new home. The breakdown for the Galaxie is as follows: *1P57X132460* 1 = 1961, P = St. Paul, MN assembly plant, 57 = Ford Galaxie Club Victoria X = 352 cubic inch V-8 engine, 132460 = the 32,460th Ford scheduled for production at St. Paul for the 1961 model year. The first was 100001 65A = Ford Galaxie Club Victoria body style code A = Raven Black 35 = Red Cloth & White Vinyl interior 23M = Scheduled for production on December 23, 1960 4 = Cruise-O-Matic transmission 6 = 3.00 to 1 rear axle ratio The Galaxie was specially ordered with delivery taken by Wayne & Lynne in January,1961 from Dodge City Ford, Dodge City, KS. A garaged, non-smoker owned, accident free vehicle during its life, save for the barn door scuff on the passenger side of the car. *Only 126,777 actual miles Upon determining that it was time to sell the Galaxie, it was pulled from the barn... the dust was hosed off...the fluids were checked...a battery was placed in the tray and voila...it fired right up, albeit with a bit of a missing idle...I put in a new set of plugs along with a new set of wires and "she" runs as smooth as ever. This is an original numbers matching vehicle. There are NO annoying drips or leaks. The Cruise-O-Matic shifts smoothly through all forward shifts and reverse. The car drives out surprisingly well. The ride to Liberty Point this morning for the photographs, was approximately 18 miles each way. I experienced no problems and it was 20 degrees outside. A straight solid body that has never been bent. I thoroughly went over the car with magnets...the quarter panels, the rockers, (galvanized from the factory) the door skins, the fenders, hood, trunk lid, etc. The magnets adhered everywhere that I placed them. The undercarriage is also solid throughout, floors, frame & frame rails. The interior is 95% original. The upholstery is in good condition. The door panels should be recovered as should the dash pad, these are fairly easy to accomplish. Wayne intended to replace the torn headliner and just never got around to it. He did, however, purchase ample headliner material to do so. It will come with the car. All glass is original. The windshield has a tiny (sesame seed size) chip. The four windows roll up & down properly. Electrically, all lights, turn signals, brake lights, speedometer, wipers, etc. are operable. The radio is not. The trim is good throughout, there are no missing pieces, emblems or letters. The grill is in nice shape, there are no bends or breaks. The bumpers are presentable. I mounted & balanced 4 nearly new Good Year tires that I had from another vehicle. The original jack, keys, service history, owners manual and the original factory Galaxie brochure will come with the car. The Galaxie is certainly worthy of a restoration as solid examples of these now antique cars are becoming increasingly difficult to find. You are bidding to purchase the Galaxie, not to be the first to "look at it". Please have your funding in place prior to placing your bid, thank you. Please consult with your spouse, therapist, pet or Magic 8-Ball prior to placing your bid, as I am not running a clinic for the confused...thank you. Inspections are welcome and will be facillitated to the best of my ability prior to the auction concluding. I have set a reasonable reserve for the Galaxie. It is commensurate with the vehicle's ownership history, overall condition and low mileage. DO NOT ask me what the reserve is as I will not disclose it. Bid what you can afford and are willing to pay for a decent quality 51 year old Ford Galaxie that runs & drives well. If you are new to eBay, have 0% feedback history or excessive negative feedback history, you will need to call me prior to placing your bid, otherwise, your bid will be cancelled. Relatively speaking, this is a very affordable collector car. It will not require one to break the bank to own it. As such, please have realistic expectations for a 51 year old automobile. I strive to accurately represent the condition of a vehicle, however, interpretations are open to ambiguity. I recently sold my 1965 Sport Fury 383 Commando coupe. This was a similarly unrestored, all original car. Despite having purchased it well back of collector book value, the buyer was unrealistic in his expectations. Given to the age of the car, it is sold in "as is' condition. Buyers from the U.S., Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand are welcome and encouraged to bid with confidence. An initial payment is due and payable within 24 hours of auction close VIA PayPal. The balance is then due & payable within 7 days thereafter under condition and arrangement made between myself and the buyer. The balance is to be paid VIA legitimate bank to bank wire transfer. It provides a documented record of the transaction for both parties. I will only accept PayPal for the entire purchase, if the buyer agrees to pay ALL PayPal related fees. (approximately $30.00 per $1000.00) Shipping and/or transportation is the sole responsibility of the buyer. The Galaxie and I are in the Colorado Springs vicinity. Trailered door to door delivery is possible within the lower 48 states for $1000.00. (non-negotiable) I can also recommend a reputable shipper for you, if needed. If you wish to present a "buy it now" offer, call me directly and present your offer. DO NOT call and ask me..."what's the lowest that you'll take?" I answer my phone quicker than I respond to e-mail, call me directly with any questions. Ebay provides for only 24 pictures, I have selected pictures that best present a concise overview of the car. If you would like any area specific pictures, simple request them. Thanks for looking and good luck when you bid! Jeff 719.492.1234, c
