Vehicle Detail
I have owned this 1952 Styleline Deluxe for roughly four years. It had 35,500 miles when I bought it. It now has a little over 38,000 miles on the original 216...runs smooth, no knocks. I installed the Edmunds Dual Carb intake on it and replaced the fiber cam gear with a aluminum one when the fiber one failed soon after I bought the car. The car was converted to 12 volts via alternator by the prior owner and was repainted once. The prior owner also replaced the original clock with a tachometer that actually looks pretty good in that location. It does have some rust through on the rear drivers side rocker, weak spots in the front floors and one body mount is gone. Please contact me for more pictures of the rust or inspect it personally. Last summer I replaced all brake shoes, wheel cylinders and flex lines. Overall in pretty good condition for its age. It has low mileage radial tires at all four corners and an original bias ply spare in the trunk. It has new carpet; the rest of the interior is original. I will also be including a factory radio for the 1952, including all installation hardware, that I never got around to restoring and installing in the car. It does buzz and light up when connected to a six volt source; it will most likely need to be completely restored. I will also include a rebuilt starter for the car. An excellent driver with the potential for a easy restoration. Please contact me with any questions. I have a clear titlle in my name...it is located in Southern Minnesota about sixty miles south of Minneapolis. I will help coordinate shipping. It is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction early...Thanks for looking. On Nov-14-12 at 06:44:12 PST, seller added the following information: Please note that the fuel gauge on the car is optimistic by roughly a 1/4 tank....how do I know? Ran out of gas today and the gauge said I had about a 1/4 tank left. Since I had never run it that low on fuel before, I really wasn't aware of the issue when I created this auction. Since the gauge is a NOS item I installed after I bought the car and the tank sending unit was also replaced after I bought the car, I have a feeling that the Runtz Gauge Resistor connected to the gauge might be on its way out. I have a new Runtz for another project that will be included with the sale. The buyer can either try installing the new Runtz or drive it as it is and always be aware of the optimistic gauge. Not really a big deal...just thought I better include this information in the listing...it is just one of the charms of owning and driving a 60 year old vehicle. Thanks for Looking... On Nov-16-12 at 05:21:35 PST, seller added the following information: The old 216 does leak a little oil as well...they all seem to a little. An veteran 1950's mechanic once told me that a 216 that dosen't leak is a 216 without any oil in it. It seems like the valve cover gasket is the likely culprit in this case...On Nov-26-12 at 06:53:08 PST, seller added the following information: The Buy It Now Price now includes complimentary winter storage from now until April 1, 2013 for the Buy It Now Buyer...Thanks for looking and bidding.... On Nov-27-12 at 06:44:07 PST, seller added the following information: Just knocked $250.00 off the Buy It Now and We are in reach of the Reserve...Lets keep it going... Thanks for looking and bidding... On Nov-27-12 at 12:24:09 PST, seller added the following information: Hmmm...Another $100 off the Buy It Now Price and a Bid away from meeting the reserve...It looks like it might be going to a new home...Not many running and driving Edmunds equipped Chevy's on Ebay...
