Vehicle Detail
1987 AMC Jeep Grand Wagoneer, with original window sticker. Only 57,000 original documented miles. This Jeep was purchased new in Steamboat Springs Colorado at Sam Taylor Auto Center on May 9, 1988, with 104 miles. Until 2012, the jeep stayed in Steamboat Springs CO. It was owned by the same person up till Oct. 7, 2012, when the current owner took possession. At the time of purchase it had been driven very little. In the last 2+ years, it had not been driven more than a few hundred miles. We have documentation to show mileage dating back to 2006. Since '06, the truck has had just under 7,000 miles put on it. Based on the interior condition and the condition of the paint, the truck would have had to been garaged it's entire life. The dashboard is perfect, as is the rest of the leather in the car, which is original. Being that the vehicle has been driven so little, it needed a few things to show the true level of what kind of survivor this Wagoneer really is. Mechanically- The jeep has all new seals, intake/valve cover/trans and resealed transmission lines. The A/C has been converted to 134A and works great. New radiator, hoses and clamps. Starter and front brakes are new, also has new cap/rotor and plugs. New muffler and cat. The carb has been adjusted. All boxes have been serviced, fluids all fresh. The jeep runs and drives like you'd expect for 25 yr old car with very low mileage. Cruise control works, all interior lights are functioning correctly. Rear power window operates as it should. Door latches/handles all work perfectly. All running lights operate, along with the factory fog lamps. Power windows and locks all operate smoothly, both power seats are working perfectly. Factory stereo is working, couldn't verify tape deck since I don't own a cassette. Tires are 75% or better. This Wagoneer does have the high/low transfer case option. A buyer could confidently drive this across country the day the Jeep is paid for. Body and Interior- Interior is all original and as you can see in the pics, it's in incredible condition. Non-smoker owned. The only thing I could fault about the inside of the truck is, the leather steering wheel is showing a little wear. The leather interior is almost perfect. Dashboard looks new and all the door trim is outstanding. Body is a survivor, completely rust free. Colorado does NOT put salt on the roads in the winter. The paint is in nice shape, not perfect but excellent for the age. The wood grain trim and decals are the original and in good shape but to bring it closer to perfection, someone might replace them. To see flaws in the wood grain trim, you have to be less than 5 feet from the car. There is one long scratch in the passenger rear door that is probably 14 inches (very thin), its in the decal. If somebody replaced the wood grain decals, it would cure that flaw. A person would have to be less than 10 feet away to spot the scratch. Something you don't see in most other Wagoneer listings- We have the original window sticker and it's in great shape. A complete list of factory equipment and upgrades. This car is a "ghost" on Carfax. Almost nothing outside of renewing registration. In this day and of age of car history reports, its as if this Jeep has been hiding in the garage timing its re-introduction to the market, so go crazy!Have questions? Call Cassidy at (970) 433-0713.
