Vehicle Detail
This is a 1953 Chevy 3100 deluxe 5 window cab truck I've had for about 4 years. I bought it got it running and drove it for 2 years before I started tearing it down to rebuild. Typical story...I've got too many projects and not enough time. Anyway, I'll try to list everything the best I can. This is a great starting point for someone wanting to restore or hot rod this truck. I've done a lot of the boring time consuming tear down already. First the good: The truck is very solid with very little rust.Brakes have been redone with new drums, ss lines, and master cylinder.Seat has been recovered. All sheet metal is present, except bed which I planned on buying new.Headlights are new.Gauges have been rebuilt.New wheel bearings all around.New gas tank.New 6v regulator.Truck has been rewired.Clear TX title.Perfect and I mean perfect original grill.I have some other items for the truck I'm listing separately in the future i.e. original rebuilt radio 12v conv., rebuilt deluxe heater, dropped solid axle, complete set of original correct wheels. etc. The buyer can have the option of purchasing these items SEPARATELY from this auction. They are not included in this auctions listing price. CONTACT ME.I have all the original parts to the truck.Original hood ornament.Hood is excellent with new chevy emblem ss.Original taillight.Good tires with extra spare.Good spare tire carrier and cut out fender.Doors are great. All sheet metal is good.Contact me with questions...there's too much to list. The bad:No motor. I took out and sold the ole' 216. If you want a 216 to restore they are a dime a dozen or a 235 might be better. If you're going to hot rod the truck you don't have to worry about gettin' rid of the engine...it's done. The 216 that was in the truck wasn't the original '53 216 anyway. Some minor rust and body issues. Drivers side floor has pinholes. Drivers side door pillar got slightly creased. It was covered with bondo which I removed to my suprise. The door closed fine. I figured someone backed up and the door got caught and hit the body. Easy repair. That's pretty much it for the bad that I can think of. Look at the pictures and contact me if you have any questions. The truck is for sale locally and I have the right to end auction at anytime. Local pickup only. If you want it shipped buyer will be responsible for all costs and arrangements. I'm super busy but I can try to help as much as possible.
