Vehicle Detail
You're bidding on one very nice 1965 Pontiac GTO. This is not a wanna be GTO. This is the real thing. Check the numbers for yourself. It is in excellent original condition. It has had one paint job, but the body is all steel, frame is excellent, and the nice interior is 100 % original. The seats don't even have any rips, and the drivers seat isn't worn out like most. That's because it was put away for 25 years and not driven. The odometer shows 58,900 miles. I was told it was correct, but I have no way of knowing, as I didn't buy it new. I bought it off an elderly couple in their 80s, along with a gorgeous 1955 Chevy bel air, and I know for a fact they rarely got these cars out of the garage. ( Will be listing the 55 soon, so check back often). If you look underneath this car, you can tell it's not been driven in bad weather or had salt on it. The frame is solid as a rock, and not rusted like most. The car has the original four speed on the floor, but unfortunatelly does not have the original 389. It now has a totally rebuilt 1969 400 cubic inch engine out of a 1969 Pontiac Firebird. The engine probably rates about 400 H.P. It runs perfect, has no knocks or noises, doesn't smoke a bit, doesn't leak anything, and is tight as a new one. The carburetor is a 750 Holley. The car is extremelly fast. The 4 speed transmission and clutch were also rebuilt. It has new long tube stainless steel headers (4 inch openings), with new Magnaflow mufflers. I also just put brand new tires on the car, so the ones in the pictures are no longer on the car, although they will come with the car if you want them. The new tires have less than 100 miles on them. I put a little wider ones on the back for better traction. The body on this car is as good as it looks in the pictures. Straight as an arrow. I find no evidence of body filler, but I'm not an expert. I do think it is 100% metal, and never had any body work done. The interior is amazingly nice, and I'm sure it's never been touched. The headliner is perfect also, but I forgot to take a picture. It does need the dome light cover, but that's all that's missing. It even has the original radio, although I've never tried to find out why it won't work. May just be a fuze. There has been no work done on the floor panels either. I did a thorough inspection underneath before I bought it. It is all original floor metal. No patch panels on this car. Also, the inside of the trunk is perfect, no rust and no patching. I think it has the original material covering the trunk bottom. It's not even worn. All the lights and turn signals work fine. The horn doesn't work, but again, I haven't taken the time to check it out. My honest opinion of this car: It's not right now a great show car. It would be with a nice paint job. It is though one of the most solid 1965 GTOs I've ever run across. That's why I bought it. It starts good even in the cold, runs like a rocket, drives nice and straight, and is a blast to drive. It needs nothing unless you want to put an expensive paint job on it. The paint on it now is nice, don't get me wrong. It's a gorgeous car. But a professional paint job on this car and you would have the nicest 65 GTO at your car show. All glass is in excellent condition, and all windows roll up and down like new. The chrome is good all the way around. Bumpers are perfect. I don't know what else I can say about this car. If you are winning bidder, I think you will be extremelly happy with it. I've seen 65s in this condition sell for $40,000. I got a good deal on the pair of cars, so I'm only asking about half that. Please email me with any questions. I'm always open to offers. I will furnish my phone number upon request. I can have the car delivered anywhere in the United States, so don't hesitate to bid no matter where you live. I also have experience shipping overseas, and have many customers in Europe, Australia, Italy and France. International shipping is not so expensive anymore, and it's very easy to arrange. If you are overseas, I will make sure you get the car, and will be in contact every step of the way. As for payment, I require $1,000 down payment immediatelly after the auction, and the balance within 14 days. I accept cash, cashiers checks, and wire transfers if you are not in the United States. I will work with you to make this a smooth and easy transaction. I have references in several countries, and will supply them upon request. Bid with confidence. Don't let this GTO pass you by. The price is right, and you won't find a better one unless you want to spend twice as much money. Thank you for looking at my car, and check back often for more vintage vehicles and motorcycles. My name is Rich, and will answer all emails. God Bless you all.
