Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE AUCTIONSO BID TO WIN General Info This is a 1960 Chevy Impala. The car was parked for about 5 years in a garage until recently. It was owned by the same person for the last 15 years. This car can be driven to your house and not towed if you chose too. If you want it towed we will help with the loading. The gas tank was dropped, cleaned, painted and stuck back on. Overall the car is a nice car that could very easily be turned into a fabulous car. There is no visible rust or rust holes anywhere on the body of this car. I have included everything and anything ive done and seen on the car. Ive tried taking a ton of photos to show any angles or imperfections. If there is anything you want to know or I dont have a picture of just let me know and ill email it to you. Body The body is solid and straight. It wears the black paint well for being a long and flat car. It has small scratchs and possibly dings that I havnt noticed. The top of the wings, trunk, roof and hood are very clean and straight. The front fenders were replaced about 5 years ago. They were nos fenders and still perfect condition. The fenders were painted by a older man. There are sand scratchs easily seen on them. The doors are very nice and show like new sheetmetal also. There is some scratches in the passenger door that will probably buff out. There is no visible rust or rust holes on the cars body. The driver side quarter looks to have been patched at some point in its life. But still looks really good. There is a dent or bend in the driver side trim about a foot back from the door. Its not a bad or easily seen one. The passenger side quarter has had a patch put in the lower part of it. The passenger rocker has also been patched. It still looks really good. If you were not looking for the patches you would never see them. The passenger trunk pan has also a patch put in it. You can only see it from below. The car must have sat on a angle and the trunk seal leaked. Because thats is the only kind of work we have found. It has a few bubbles on the trunk lid by the key hole. I have taken a picture of this. The paint is good except for the front fenders. But a nice new black overall paint job would make this a killer car. All the chrome and trim are presentable but not great. The frame is perfect and looks to have never been twisted or bent. One of the rear floor braces have pin holes in it. But it appears to be still solid. Interior The interior is in very nice shape. The whole interior was fully restored a few years ago. The only thing wrong is that there is a tear by the rear view mirror in the headliner. Probably from someones ring while they reached for the mirror. I have got a picture of that. It has a high dollar stereo that looks like the original but has all new electronics. Sounds and works great. The heater, windshield wipers, and all lights work. The horn does not work and there is a new contact for it still in the plastic. All the glass is good and works. It has some scratches on the windshield and a rock chip. Ive tried to get a photo of that. Engine The motor is a 400 bored 30. So its a 406. It has a quiet gear drive timing set and is barely herd when running. I do not know the specs on the camshaft. But it does not sound like much of a cam. The intake set up is a Offenhouser 2x4 with a set of Carters on it. It is cold natured and the choke must be set at the carb. It has mechanical chokes on both carbs but not hooked to any cable. Once the choke is set it starts fine. Idles very good and without any issues. We set the timing and put new sparkplugs, plug wires, points and condensor on it. It has a new fuel pump and hose with filter installed. The tranny is a turbo 350. It shifts and goes into gear like its supposed to. The kick down cable is unhooked from the carbs. Looks like it was never hooked up. But it upshifts and down shifts normally. The exhaust will be all new from engine to rear bumper before the car is picked up. Brakes and Suspension The car is a manual steering and brakes car. It has new brake shoes and wheel cylinders on all 4 wheels. The steering has no play but the steering box is still the original and steers like a 1960 car.
