Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Up for sale for the first time is my 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe. I found this car some time ago in a barn in Minnesota. I had originally intended to build a great ’40 coupe but have given up on doing so. I recently looked at the new reproduction bodies from Bob Drake and Dennis Carpenter. They are great but you will have $30,000 in the car before you start and that is without a chassis. This car is very complete but it has some rust problems. Most notably is that it needs a new floor and the receiver portion where the deck lid meets the body is very rusty.Clear Minnesota Title (last registered in 1960) There is a lot of good with the car. The body itself is solid. The following very important parts of an intended build are solid; the drip rails on the roof are very good, straight and no rust. The front quarter panels are both rust free and solid. The rear quarter panels do not have any rust out and are solid. The doors are rust free and there are no rust in the bottom of the doors. Other additional items: Two original dashes. One bad. One very good original, ($500) Three sets of running boards. One brand new from Bob Drake ($1200) New rear under-deck panel ($400) All original door strikers and latches Two grilles and grille panels. One new Vintique/Drake ($1250) Inside garnish moldings New instrument cluster and gauges. ($500) Original steering column (complete) and steering wheel Original bench seat. ($500) Seven fenders – all average condition. 100% of all new stainless body trim, hood, doors, quarter panels, grille, etc. from drake ($600) The rest is all there: Door handles, window mechanisms, bumper brackets, hood, and all the rest of the “original” stuff. I have tried to describe this car honestly and as you can see it is a big project and what you see is what you get. That being said, along with the car goes nearly $5,000 in brand new stuff and items that I paid cash out of pocket. Everything else needed for this car like the floor, etc. is readily available from Bob Drake or Dennis Carpenter Industries. The car is located in Van Nuys, California. Anyone can argue about price and value. I obviously believe this is a great value, particularly with me taking such a big financial loss on this package. My loss is your gain. The one thing that cannot be argued is that the 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe is one of THE iconic cars of our era. Good luck bidding!
