This 1980 Mercedes Benz 450SL runs as good as it looks, but has had the smog pump removed and will not pass smog inspection in California. 175K miles, it has been treated very well through the years and is in very good condition. One repaint in the original color to a very high standard, it has a few minor flaws worth mentioning, but looks very nice for it's age. The paint is very nice, with only a few minor chips, and a few light scratches on the left rear fender. (difficult to photograph) Also, the left rear tail light lens is cracked, and will need to be replaced. The hardtop looks great, and the convertible top still looks virtually unused. (it even had a towel over the rear window to protect it while in the down position) Inside, the seats, carpets, and wood trim all look great. The dash has a plastic cap, but it fits well. Still retains the original Becker Mexico casette stereo. All controls seem to work, (even the clock) and the AC still blows cold! Mechanically, it starts quickly and drives very nicely. One of the better 450SLs we've ever had. It has obviously been well cared for with Bosch wiper blades and Michelin tires. I understand that even with the smog pump removed this car passed the exhaust sniffer test, but could not pass the visual without the pump in place. Technically offered as a project car in California, (add the smog pump and it could be on the road) or a nice driver anywhere else. This 1980 Mercedes Benz 450SL runs as good as it looks, but has had the smog pump removed and will not pass smog inspection in California.

175K miles, it has been treated very well through the years and is in very good condition. One repaint in the original color to a very high standard, it has a few minor flaws worth mentioning, but looks very nice for it's age.
