Vehicle Detail

1938 Chevy Steel-Bodied Fat-Fendered Hot-Rod 5 Window Business Coupe If you happen to be a full size human being and ever sat next to your buddy in his 32 Roadster - you will appreciate an enclosed car with a roof and roll-up windows, built wide enough to avoid the shoulder to shoulder contact and a trunk big enough to take your mother-in-law with all her luggage back to the airport and enjoy the peaceful or rowdy drive home. You went to the store for cigarettes in your T-Bucket and they had cases of Budweiser on Sale, combined with a free lounge chair - but you had to leave it there for lack of space and went home with only a pack of smokes...Or that beautiful day when you thought about driving your Hot-Rod to work - but you couldn't secure it and the bosses garage was spoken for.....Not to worry - THIS is your car ! Arizona titled as a 1938, this Chevrolet Coupe is a great example of the fusion of looks, power and drive-ability. Built on a rust free all-steel body with a solid frame, this Hot rod was carefully crafted with the right components and an eye for detail. The craftsmanship is great - frame, transmission housing and the engine oil pan are even painted to match the stunning GM Bright Teal exterior color. It cruises nicely on the freeway and runs without rattles even on bumpy roads. Goes straight & smooth, no shakes, rattles or vibrations. Short rear end gearing, quick acceleration, still appr. 3000rpm at 65 mph, never overheating issues even in 100+ degree Arizona weather. Body is straight without fiberglass, good glass, doors fit and close nicely. All the chrome trim and the bumpers have been replated and look great. Only 13,000 trouble free miles since it was built. Power comes from a 350 Chevy small block decked out with a Holley 4- barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, HEI distributor, Headers & true dual exhaust mated to a Turbo Hydro 350 automatic transmission and Ford 9" inch rear w. limited slip. The front end utilizes Heidt's Mustang II independent coil suspension with stabilizer bar and rack and pinion steering. It has front disc brakes with ventilated rotors, dual circuit brake system and rear drum brakes to bring everything to a halt when necessary. Custom touches to the classic '38 Chevrolet styling include a smooth firewall, custom frenched teardrop taillights with blue dots, chrome-plated door latches, and contrast painted belt-line trim stamping. Other amenity updates include electric windshield wipers, sunvisors, dial side view mirrors, chrome driving-lights, Ididit tilt steering column with Grant signiture steering wheel, VDO matched electronic gauge package, Pioneer AM/FM cd player and more. The paint is not show quality but the pictures absolutely do the car justice and it looks every bit as good in person. The only other items to note are a small (1 inch) crack in the lower forward corner of the driver's door glass and missing screw plugs for driver's door armrest where the screws go through to mount. The receipts for the build components alone total almost $30,000 - not including assembly labor! Here's a chance to own a true all-steel, turnkey, quality hotrod at a super affordable price. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, or if you would like additional photos. The car is available for inspection at my home in Scottsdale, Arizona upon appointment. Vehicle is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
