This is an ORIGINAL 1968 Meyers Manx. I owned an original in 1968 and this is definitely an original. I recently attended Manx on the Banx and I am motivated to finish my other Meyers Manx which is the same color as my 1968 buggy. Bruce Meyer attended Manx on the Banx and signed this car for me (picture of signing included). I have just completed refurbishing this dune buggy with new seats, new stainless steel brake lines as well as all cylinders and shoes renewed, new shocks, new bearings, generator, voltage regulator, fuel pump, and carburator were replaced. Also points, plugs, wires and rotor were replaced. The fuel tank, sending unit and guage were replaced as well as the Tach and windshield and wiper arms and blades. The tires are new with only the miles to and from Manx on the Banx. Clear NC title. The car is a base coat clear coat dark blue metallic in VG to Excellent.condition. I have interviewed the builder of this car and it has spent the last 10 years in a crawl space under a house. I hate to sell it but I want to finish my other one so I can fully relive my childhood. Buggy runs great and needs nothing but a license tag to drive. Headlights and turn signals were also replaced. It is street legal and tons of fun. As Bruce says "More smiles per Mile". Study the pictures and send me any questions. Pictures show reenforcing tubes and serial number. Very little rust and any exposed rust has been treated and painted. Mileage is unknown. On Oct-24-12 at 14:38:31 PDT, seller added the following information: I just added pictures of the front badge and seats. This is actually a 1969 Manx body on a 1968 vw chassis. The dash is original abs plastic with some cracks and chips. This manx is eligible to be authenticated and has been verbally and in person. You probably won't find another Manx signed by Bruce. This is a very collectable and desireable car. It does not have a top but tops are available. On Oct-26-12 at 20:19:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Also, I replaced the engine mounts and clutch during my rebuilding of this car. It is great fun as you can see from the picture driving on the outer banks. I towed it to Nags Head and it tows easily. Don't let this one get away. It is an opportunity to own a piece of history. I have just lowered the buy it now to $7500.00. I am starting to see that east coast manxes are not selling for as much as west coast manxes are selling.
