1989 Volvo 240 wagon. 4 cyl. 5 speed. Daily driver type vehicle, needs some cosmetics and routine maintenance but is a good daily 'point a to point b' vehicle. It can sit for two weeks straight and will always start right up and go. Has a nice CD player installed, manual windows. A/C does not work and I am unsure of the exact mileage because odometer does not work. This is not a one owner , mint condition vehicle, it has a few scratches and dings but I have driven this car daily and it starts every time I get in it and gets me where I need to go. These are heavy cars with wonderful safety records that still somehow get almost 30 MPG based on your driving habits. On Nov-03-12 at 03:41:03 PDT, seller added the following information: FYI, I also have this vehicle listed locally and someone test drove it yesterday. They reported a slight hum emanating from the rear that I have apparently just grown accustomed to and did not notice. After further inspection, the noise could not be isolated to a single component but is believed to be coming from either a rubber mount that is worn, a wheel bearing or maybe even the chunk in the differential(my guess). Please consider this when bidding. I have checked the gear dope in the rear end and it is fine, I have also checked the gear oil level in the transmission and it is fine. Just in case...I have located and will include a complete rear axle assembly(used) for the high bidder if desired at no additional cost. Vehicle seems fine to me but in full disclosure, I want the high bidder to be satisfied with their purchase. Just for the record, I would personally drive this vehicle anywhere just like it is.... but if you are the auction winner and are dissatisfied when you see it, I will refund your deposit, no obligation.
