Vehicle Detail
Excellent Mechanical Condition 2001 Ford Excursion Limited 7.3L Diesel 4WD. We all know this is the desirable diesel engine, and runs excellent, no issues. I have driven this vehicle over 13,000 miles since June including a family trip to California. With the Edge Products programmer you will get 18.5-20mpg on the highway. A/C, Heat, signals, brakes, lights, wipers, everything works and Texas Inspection is current until April 2013. Heated seats. Tires are new, Nitto's, no road noise - have approxmiately 6K miles on them. We use this vehicle for family trips etc so I replaced the front ball joints, flushed the tranny recently, replaced the starter, batteries, CPS, etc, within the past year to insure a mechanically sound vehicle. Basically, all the common stuff that you read about going out on in the Excursion/F-250 Forums has been replaced. I'm an Engineer... yes, oil changed at regular service intervals during my ownership. Don't let the high mileage fool you, these engines will run 500K - 1M miles before needing a rebuilt. The mechanical issues I know about are: 1) Door Locks - only the driver's door automatic door lock works, the actuators which I think are around $25-35 each are old in the other doors. This is a very simple fix, I never did it because I leave the doors unlocked. Just reach over and lock or have the kids lock up when we need it locked. 2) Missing 4 clips that help hold the insulation under the hood in place (maybe $5 in parts) but unnecessary. 3) One of the running board lights is out, $3 maybe 4) front right wheel bearing was a little loose when I had the ball joints replaced, and I will go ahead and do for buyer that if you buy-it-now $190 parts +$120 labor. The cosmetic issues include typical wear for this vehicle. No Dents, I can not find any areas that were repainted from damage. Driver's door does have an excessive amount of paint chipping from small impacts, not sure how that happened. Please see pic. Almost like a strap or something was blowing in the wind and was hitting it. Miscellaneous scratches here and there. Driver seat has a small tear (3 inches) that was repaired by upholstery shop. All seats are in good condition and work, but are not new. I restore and sell classic cars as a hobby, and that is part of my feedback on Ebay. Please note that I am an honest seller, and expect the same from a Buyer. Please don't bid unless you intend to fullfil your obligations. Vehicle is for sale locally and seller reserves the right to cancel this auction at any time. Thanks & good luck On Nov-02-12 at 07:59:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note that I will be continuing to drive this vehicle here and there, including a trip to our ranch etc this weekend, so the mileage will be approximately 500 miles more than listed. Also, clear Texas Title in my name, no lien holders etc, 100% in my hands and ready for transfer. Thanks,
