The 968 has been regarded as the best (and last) of Porsche’s 4 cylinder engines. In fact, this 3.0 liter engine was the 2nd largest 4 cylinder ever produced. Producing 236hp and 225 lb. feet of torque, this Porsche hatchback was not only practical, but also a fun sports car for any condition. And, it sips the gas getting 25 mpg!
The original owner of this car purchased it new from the Porsche dealership in Toronto, Canada. Shortly after purchasing the car, he got wind that Porsche was releasing a very limited run of 968 Turbo S models. He just had to have one. Unfortunately, he was unable to secure a spot for the few that became available. So, the next step was to build his own. Fortunately, he had a good friend who was working with the Rothmans 944 Cup Race Program. He was able to secure for him some very rare and one off parts. Many of these parts came right from the 968 Cup Series cars that Rothmans was sponsoring. The parts included the following:

Since the owner was big into doing PCA Concours events, he had a very rare and custom made glass sunroof installed to show off the interior. The original sunroof is included and in great condition. After enjoying and showing the car for nearly a decade, he was courted by Michelin to use the car for the marketing of their new Cup tire. After displaying the car at the Toronto International Car Show in 2003, Michelin purchased the car and began using it at all of its North American Car Shows and advertisements.
In 2004, they sold it to the next owner who proceeded to give this car the power enhancements it deserved. He employed the help of 928 Motorsports who made a custom kit specifically for the 968s. The system included the following:
Centrifugal supercharger with a ceramic-coated impeller
Cold air intake system with K&N air filter
Intake elbow to MAF system
Bosch blow-off valve
Shrouded high output radiator fan
Idler/tensioner pulley assembly
The entire system installed was over $8,000. At the same time the system was done (about 10,000 miles ago), the timing belt and water pump were replaced. The net results of this upgrade gave the car an additional 70hp and 60lb feet of torque. Plus, this all happens with only 5 pounds of boost so the motor isn’t strained. Recently, new motor mounts, spark plugs, and oil service were performed.
Just looking at this Porsche it is obvious that the owners really cared for the car. The paint looks shiny like new and the interior is equally as clean with no tears or cracks. The factory sport seats are immaculate and very comfortable. The Michelin Sport tires are near new and the brakes have more than half life.
