~ 1965 FORD Galaxie 500 LTD ~ Original, California Survivor, 1 owner What a pleasure to be in possession of this fine Automobile. Starts first time > every time. This 390 CID V-8 engine runs great! Very smooth. Rumbles nicely given the Dual exhaust; mufflers in really good shape. Drives and Rides like a flying sofa. Power steering, brakes, all gears shift well. NO deep rust of any kind on frame or otherwise. Frame straight. Wheel wells, metal around crome wheel trim,under doors, trunk, pan, no rust. All window cranks function well, all glass good, vehicle chrome nice. More history to buyer if desired... Purchased new in 1965 by an Army General for his Mother in Northern California. She drove Galaxie until she could'ent in Her 80's. 75,787 odometer reading is correct. Stored in a carport/covered with tarps/constant rodent control for last 17 years. Comes with complete jack, spare and spare mount nut, 2 extra taillight assemblies, 15" tire chains and tensioners (if wanted), 2 sets of keys*, tires used but in road ready shape, front and back floor 'Rubber-made' mats. All lights function properly including dash lights, wipers function, 4 Barrel carburator stock and rebuilt in last 10 months. Original owner released to individual on consignment, asked $6,500.00 locally, did not sell. Now I am attempting to find a home for "The 500" as owners call it, not my car. Title clear, bill of sale, statement of fact included with sale. Original Black&Yellow CA license plates gone. A really nice piece: pictures tell all. Disclosures > clock on dash not functioning, (I have not checked fuses) Glove box internal key* cylinder missing needs replacement, (has fittings just no key key cylinder) dash board has 3 very thin cracks in it near center radio speaker: 3", 1 1/2" , 2" long, sun bowed on driver side a bit, yet has a cool look. Steering wheel grip circle has a few cracks in it. Front seat has 1" round hole and 1/4" long tear. 1 hub cap is like new, the other 3 have some chrome scuffing on wide outer ring. The original paint is holding up good, body damage consist of 3 very small dings on doors. Following damage is pictured > trunk lid dented in middle/back above key, (opens and closed fine). 3" oblong ding above left rear door. Right side doors some body damage at center effecting both doors lower lines, (both doors function fine) Front left quarter panel hit in very front effecting headlight trim on outer edge, and front leading edge of panel. Before You can cruise this Presidential protection style automobile, Tank not rusted yet You will need to drop the gas tank and have it purged , lines blown out upto engine compartment as well. Two bolts/straps will drop tank. This is because the 17 years it sat idle; gas in tank turned to gooey varnish plugging lines. So how does it runs so great? You may ask... #1 the rebuilt Carb and #2 notice the small red gas tank in engine photo. It delivers fule to the pump for about 5 miles, or 10 minutes at idel, before You need to refill. I'm happy to report that they are not faded at all. In fact they are so clear at times the swirling gleams opalescence. #2 Why did we not flush gas tank?
