Vehicle Detail
Selling an extremely nice rust-free 1991 Toyota Deluxe Pickup with 96,345 original miles. It was sold new to a man who was retired, and he ordered it with many factory options: A/C, power steering and brakes, AM-FM radio, the "Deluxe" trim option (came with chrome grille and bumpers, upgraded interior with cloth bench seat, more sound deadener, full carpeting), vent windows, sliding back window, tach and gauges, mud guards, performance axle, carpeted floor mats (that still look like new), and tilt wheel. He divided his time between Knoxville, TN and Yuba City, CA, and took meticulous care of the truck (all maintenance was recorded up to 88k miles in 2004 with regular oil changes between 3-4,000 miles). The owner passed away in 2007 and his nephew wasn't good with a stick-shift vehicle and sold it to me in 2010 with 93k miles on it. Since that time I have had the timing chain and guides replaced (orig. guides were plastic and were getting worn and noisy. the water pump, head gasket and 3 valves were also replaced at that time as a leakdown test on the head indicated minor valve leakage), Monroe Gas Magnum shocks, new muffler and tailpipe, new rear brakes, steel belted radials, new clutch (orig. one was still fine), all new fuids, and a Kenwood stereo with CD and Ipod input jack was installed (new Kenwood speakers also installed...work was done at Best Buy). The truck comes with its original paperwork incl. the window sticker. It also comes with a clean Carfax report that has only one black mark...the truck was involved in a minor front end hit in March (a woman cut me off on the freeway during rush hour and then had to slam on her brakes...I couldn't stop in time and hit her at low speed. The left front fender, hood, grille, headlight rims, metal front valence panel, and bumper were replaced with genuine Toyota parts. The work was done professionally and then repainted in the original silver metallic in base coat/clear coat. It had no frame damage and drivesand rides beautifully, gets great gas mileage, is extremely quiet and dependable, and gets frequent remarks on how nice it looks. It accellerates very quickly due to its 3.58 factory performance axle ratio (standard ratio was a weak 3.08), and its torquey 2.4 liter wngine (considered by most Toyota truck afficianados to be the best truck engine ever built by Toyota...a legendary engine). The A/C blows ice cold, and the truck starts right up...it can be driven anywhere with no issues, and gets fuel economy in the low to mid 20s. It was heavily rustproofed when new, and the body is absolutely rust free (there is slight rust on the rear bumper which is still available thru Toyota). The bad...it has two very small holes on the driver's side of the bench seat, minor stains in the lower front seat, a couple of minor dents in the top of the bed, minor scratches in the bed (hey, it's a truck!), a minor imperfection in the driver's side fender, a scratch about 4 inches long by the right taillight, and a small area about 3-4 inches long on the beck knife-edge of the hood where paint has rubbed off (it's barely noticeable). It's nearly impossible to find one of these collectible classic pickups without rust, lots of options (this pickup has the most options of any of its generation I've ever seen), and under 100k miles...you will not be disappointed! I will not ship it...you can pick it up at my house located on the SE side of the Columbus, OH metro area. I'll keep it up to 2 weeks so you can arrange to come get it. I expect a $500 down payment thru Paypal with 48 hours, or I will relist it. I also expect a phonecall from the new buyer with 24 hours (my cell is 614/769-5868) so we can discuss the sale and arrange for you to pick it up. The balance will be paid in cash, not by check. Thanks and happy bidding! I received a phone call from a guy asking if there was any frame damage from rust...there is NO rust on this truck! It was heavily rustproofed at the time of purchase, spent most of its life in rust-free states, and has laways been garaged. I didn't drive it during the 2 winters it spent in Ohio, as my intent was to put a small block Chevy and 6 speed manual trans in it. I have too many vehicles and have a baby on the way...something's gotta go, so the truck will go to a new home.
