Vehicle Detail

There are some very cool things about '65 New Yorker wagons that make them unique. First, they have those awesome glass-covered headlights that give them a very sophisticated look. They also have those intriguing dual vinyl strips running along both edges of the roof, along with that roof rack that goes on forever. I always thought that these cars were very cool and this one is no exception. It is the 9 passenger version with a rear-facing third seat in the back. This particular wagon needs to be finished. I purchased this car a number of years ago from a farmer in Kansas and it needed to be restored at that point in time. I had the car shipped here and began the long process of restoration. The interior is the only thing left to complete and all that means is that it must be put back together. The body has been professionally redone and it is pristine. There were a number of areas of rust that have been replaced by new panels with a complete paint job of the original color. All the pieces are in boxes in the back of the car. The seats were professionally reupholstered and look great. They were originally leather but I opted for velour inserts. The carpeting is also new. The dash pad is perfect. The door panels aren't perfect but they are good. The driver door panel is in the back of the car. I dismantled the instrument panel to paint it and never got around to doing it so that needs to be done and then everything put back into place. The front and rear bumpers were both professionally re-chromed and look great. The car runs and drives great. The old 413 fires up and sounds awesome. I had the starter rebuilt. The transmission moves the car in both directions. We did discover that the fuel tank has developed a leak, so that also needs to be addressed. I also have a new sending unit since the fuel gauge didn't appear to be working. The windshield needs to be replaced and there is a new one of those in the back as well. There is even a factory AM/FM radio (and single speaker) that sounds great. All the pieces for the dash are there including the clock. The rear window is power and goes up and down with the dash switch but not the key switch on the tailgate. The battery is weak and should be replaced. The tires also need to be replaced. The wheels came with the car and are 15" aluminum wheels from (I think) a late 70's Dodge Magnum. I have the CHRYSLER letters for the hood and all the trim for the tailgate. The headliner is also out but it consists of a half dozen or so perforated cardboard panels that snap back into place with the cross pieces that are also in the back. The car is equipped with factory AC and everything is there but I'm sure that it needs to be recharged. This car is an easy restoration. All the major work has been done. It won't take much time to get everything back together. I have since moved with a different job and I just don't have the time. I have invested quite a bit of cash into this car and I think it shows. I just want someone to take it and get it on the road to some cruise nights and shows where it belongs. I have a bill of sale (no title) from NYS DMV. I am offering this car with no reserve simply because it needs to go. If you are near by and want to take a look let me know. The car is located in Owego NY. Upon completion of the auction I would like a $500 deposit via Paypal and the car needs to be picked up within a week of the auction with the balance of payment in cash. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer and we can assist with that for a fee if desired. Let me know if you have any questions, I'm sure I forgot some things. Thanks for looking.
