1980 Chevrolet LUV pickup, 2wd, long bed, 4 speed with the Mikado trim package. Truck door sticker has a build date of November 1979. Truck is pretty solid and would be a great restoration truck or even a daily driver with a fresh battery and a couple things needed. I originally bought the truck to part out, but after getting it I realized it is still in good solid shape and I would hate to rip it to pieces. I am not really into the long beds even though it is only an extra 18" longer and I have enough projects and would just like to see this go to a LUV or mini-truck enthusiast who will take care of it or restore it. Truck would make for a great 350 swap which is what a lot of people do. The truck has the stock 1.8 motor with what I believe to be 134,000 on it because it sure doesn't seem like a 234k truck, nor does it seem like a 34k truck, but it very well could only have 34k on it, but I doubt it. Truck has been repainted sometime over the years from the original yellow color to a green then the dark blue it is now. Frame, rocker panels, and floor pans are all solid. Of course there are some rust spots, but they aren't bad for these trucks which are known for their rust, especially the East coast trucks which already aren't as available as they are out West. Tires are still decent and I thought about switching them with some worn out ones I have, but I will let them stay on the truck. I bought the truck in October of 2009 and it has been parked ever since. It did run after I bought it and I took it for a 20 mile round trip to put some gas in it. I noticed then the driver side front brake was grinding some, so it must be locked up from sitting. I can throw in an extra rotor if need be since I have some extra LUV parts. The bench seat is pretty rough in the middle as shown in the pictures. I parked the truck not long after I got it and when I went to start it after the Winter in early 2010 it wouldn't start. It can't be anything major since I had driven it a bit and everything was fine then. It is probably a bad ground or starter or starter solenoid. These trucks do need some attention to the grounds since they do tend to get rusty. Anyway, besides that, this truck is in pretty decent shape for being 32 years old and from the Northeast. I really hate to part with it, but I hate to have it just sitting as well. It deserves a good home to someone who will appreciate it and keep it alive.
