This 1982 Volvo has been lovingly taken care of for its entire history. So why do you move to sell a car that you have had for 30 years? Well, one is my age. I've wondered about when I will use it the way I should. And how about priorities--and when I will get to it. So here it is---for sale. Most everyone wants to say how well they have taken care of their car. Well, it is true---every highway mile has been put on by me, and the passenger seat mostly was vacant. So inside is mostly like new. In all it's years, the Volvo has been out of the elements---especially the deleterious effects of sun and water. You can see that by the photographs. It has one small spot of rust -- otherwise paint is perfect -- no blistering or bubbling. It also has a small dent that is shown in the pictures. Please scroll down to see all of the pictures. So to say it has been well cared for is an understatement. Things needing attention as follows: 1) Fuel gauge does not currently work---shows empty---when it is full. 2) Brakes are soft----two new front brake calipers were added on front wheels---need to be bled one more time. 3)AC works---needs to be charged as it has lost Freon over the years. Last topped off about four years ago. 4) Tires look good with tread---however---are getting aging cracks---so I would not get in the left lane on the German Autobahn. Interesting additions: 1) Timing belts are changed---few miles on new belts 2)Fuel Pump and injecters recently rebuilt and cleaned 3) The in- line six has low mileage for an engine that VW says is good for 500K miles. Since I am the only owner, I would be glad to answer as much as I can---may have to refer your questions to my son, Geoff, who is a good mechanic -- he has helped me over the years with the car.
