1975 Vintage/Classic Postal Jeep Mail Jeep Mail carrier that runs and drives. It is a 2WD, power to the rear wheels only. The rearend has a tag for the optional "posi" or "limited slip differential" and a tag with the gear ratio of 3.07:1 Some people convert these to four wheel drive or 4WD. It is a vehicle for basic transportation or delivery service, with cosmetic rust, but a solid frame. This is a DJ5D model, NOT a Willys, Jeep Station wagon, CJ-2A, CJ-3B, CJ-5, CJ-6, CJ-7, SJ, XJ, YJ, or a Jeep Wrangler, (CJ means civilian Jeep). It was was built off of the CJ5 platform. The DJ is for Dispatch Jeep, which means it was created as a delivery vehicle. It is a right hand drive (RHD) vehicle and currently has one seat for the driver only. Right-Hand-drive. It was used for mail delivery up until a few months ago when it was retired, in working order. I have additional seats available for extra $. Engine: straight 6 cylinder AMC (American Motors Corporation) 232 CID Transmission: Chrysler's heavy duty 727 automatic (a great Mopar transmission, put behind big blocks like the hemi's and 440's) Rearend: 10-bolt posi or limited slip differential, this is a Dana 44 (heavy duty rearend) and can hold up to built V-8 engine power! People do a lot of neat things with these jeeps, like restoration or custom jobs.... anything is possible! I saw one with v-8 engine at drag strip running 12 second 1/4 mile times, what a unique hotrod! It probably had the original rearend in it with the optional sure grip like this one has. I've seen them on ebay for $12,000-$15,000 all fixed up. It you just want an inexpensive run about this may be a good option for you. Great for pulling behind campers as an inexpensive extra vehicle. This may be a better option for you than a golf cart, ATV, 4-wheeler, or tractor on the farm and it is street legal in all states. They are known for getting through places where cars cant make it. It has P195/65R15 tires.
