The history of this beautiful Bright Red Allante' Roadster is as follows: On 09/25/89, as a gift to himself upon completing his second medical degree, Dr. J.R. (James) Damron, enlisted his hometown dealer, Navarro Cadillac of Sante Fe, New Mexico, to obtain for his purchase a new 1989 Cadillac Allante' convertible in arguably the best color combination offered. Being that he had recently earned this doctorate from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN., and had set up a radiology practice there, Navarro Cadillac facilitated the delivery of his Allante' through Andrews Cadillac of Brentwood, TN. * Among the finest of only 3276 Allante' automobiles built for 1989! * NO paintwork ever! 100% factory original paint from bumper to bumper! * Garaged & pampered, climate control stored in dry New Mexico for 22 years. * CARFAX (in hand) certified, one owner, NO ACCIDENT history. * Guaranteed to be ZERO rust! * NO parking lot dings anywhere. * Strictly a summer use vehicle, NO winters and therefore NO exposure to salt, mag chloride or any corrosives utilized on winter roads. * Non-smoker, NO pets, NO kids, NO food, NO beverages...no kidding! * ONLY 27,664 actual miles, fully documented since new. * All one ownership provenance to corroborate the history of the Allante' from day one is present and will be forwarded on to the new owner. New, the Allante' had a base MSRP of, $57,683.00. Dr. Damron chose to have his Allante' optioned with GM authorized Dayton 60 spoke chrome wire wheels. ($2400) At $60K, these were considered a bargain. They wires truly provide an elegant profile while setting the Allante' apart! As you can see, the original Cadillac Aluminum Allante' Hardtop is still with the car. Also included is the aluminum hardtop stand, (on wheels for easy manuevering) the Cadillac flannel storage cover for the top and the flannel covers which go over the arms of the stand. For those that are not entirely familiar with the Allante' automobile, GM was aware that Mercedes was preparing to unveil their entirely redesigned SL automobile line. GM desired to expand into the luxury two seater roadster market. The Allante' was manufactured between 1987-1993. These were a joint venture between GM and Pininfarina, famous for their Ferrari design work. The cars were partially assembled in Detriot and then shipped by plane to Italy to have the body's attached to the chassis. The cars were then shipped back to Detroit for completion. Given the nature of this assembly process as well as the two required BOEING flights, Cadillac reportedly lost money on all Allantes'. All features and equipment on the Allante' are fully operational. The Dayton wires were just hand polished, they have NO curb rash or pitting. 4 new VOGUE tyres ($1000.00) were just mounted & balanced...the nibs are still present...Vogue tyres are synonomous w/Cadillac. In anticipation for its sale, a recent service included: a new Delco 6 year battery, serpentine belt, hoses, platinum plugs, all fresh fluids, brake service, 4 wheel alignment & a full detail. At 25 model years of age, the Allante' looks, runs and drives beautifully! The depth & luster of the paint is remarkable. (see picture reflections) Its not that the Allante is clean, it has never been dirty. Always hand washed & polished, not waxed, no swirl marks...never buffed. The Allante' can be driven anywhere with pride of ownership. Everywhere it goes, it always garners compliments...people are amazed at its condition! From within the quiet cabin, the Allante' accelerates briskly, handles precisely and stops assuredly. It is in as beautiful condition as the rest of the Cadillac. The top is made from aluminum, it is fairly light in weight, though, cumbersome. The individual constraints of family members this morning left me with no one to assist in removing it prior to taking the pictures in Garden of the Gods. * All original glass, NO chips or cracks. * All gaskets and weather stripping are soft and pliable. * Excellent carpeting throughout, new floor mats (the original mats are included) * Perfect dash, NO cracks or warping * Original spare, (never on the ground) jack, tire tool, locking lugnut tool, wire wheel brush and tire placard are present.
