FRONT WHEEL DRIVE WIRE WHEEL COVERS I am selling my classic car collection. I have been collecting Chrysler "Woodie" Convertibles for nearly15 years. At one time I had nearly 30 of them. I have graced the covers and back cover of TIMBER TALES, a formermagazine dedicated to Chrysler Woodie Convertibles both the 40's and 80's. These rare and nifty cars are becoming a revered collector car. There are two books available featuringthem, a Registry and one was featured in the hit film- PLANES, TRAIN AND AUTOMOBILES and SEINFELD. They harkback to the 1946-50.They are unique, rare and fun to drive. They were only offered in three colors from the factory- Pearle White, Black- Sable Brown. The white oneswere the most popular, the black ones the rarest. In 1983 the landmark year ( first year ) only 1520 were manufactured for distribution worldwide. Only 49 werein the Town and Country Registry, many were scrapped in favor of the new J Body Lebaron and Sebring Convertible with 6 Cylinderand faster engines. While there are probably more of these cars out there in various conditions, they are definitely rare. This car has an interesting history. It was purchased new by the widow of the Hyatt Hotel Disaster in Kansas Cityin the early 80's where the skywalks collapsed on patron dancing on the main floor. Over a hundred people perished. In the early 90's she offered the car for sale in the local newspaper at her home in Raytown, Missouri. I drove the carand it was garaged and like new. I could not bring myself to buying it because I wanted one from the 1940's. Later in the year I sawthe car again at a Lawrence, Kansas car show.. I still could not make up my mind for a few days. I called and decided to buy the car and ithad been sold to a couple in Lees Summit, Missouri, a suburb of Kansas City . So I decided I wanted one and started looking around and located one for sale here and decided they were great cars, fun to own. People stared and wondered what they were. So I started collecting locally and on Ebay. Like cats, it's hard to just haveone. This car has had inside storage since I bought it on October 1, 2000 when I saw the owners at a Cruise nigh witha "For Sale" sign on the car. I was destined to have it. This low mileage convertible became part of my collection. The car runs and drives beautifully and looks like a 49K car inside and out. It quickly starts. After ten years of storage itrequired a carb re-do, gas tank flushed and a drivers side axle replaced because the seal was leaking. Not even 50K miles in 30 years. It hasalways been garaged. No rust. The paint is beautiful, maybe a ding here and there. It needs very little TLC to make this a perfect carI believe the AC needs charging after storage all this time. The Reserve is very low for this car. I want to sell it along with the rest of the collection. If you want a nifty low mileageconvertible that will only appreciate in value this is the one. It is a daily driver, not a project car, or one for Sunday drives andcruise nights. One thing is for sure, you will not see this landmark car around unless you live next door to me. If you are seriously considering one of these car, this is one to look at. The car can be viewed and driven in KansasCity and you can contact me- Wade Williams at 816-943-0855. All sales final. This is a 30 year old used car. It is sold " as-is" with no warranty or guarantee given or implied. The description and condition of the car is what I believe and what is apparent to me. If you are going to buy the car you can come and inspect it . As I said, all sales final. I suggest the car be hauled on a car transport if youare taking it any great distances. While it drives fine, there is always a chance the water pump, fuel pump or belts could break or thecar over heat. This is the common sense thing to do with all older classic cars.Shipping is to be arranged by the buyer.
