Saab was going strong in 2001 when this high-end, steel grey metallic 9-5 SE sedan was manufactured. This car cost more than $40,000 new and was a state-of-the-art Swedish luxury sport sedan. The car came loaded with yards of quality leather, all power luxuries including eight-way power front seats, heated seats all around, power windows and sunroof, an amazing Harman Kardon nine-speaker CD stereo, and myriad safety and performance features.
The 9-5 SE's soul is a 200-horsepower turbocharged 3-liter V6 engine mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.
Saab built a reputation for safety and this car represented with next generation driver and passenger front airbags; front seat head and toso side air bags; active head restraints; and front seat belt pre-tensioners. It also has daytime running lights and front and rear fog lights.
As the photos show, the interior is in above average condition, with the seat leather still excellent. The car had not even been detailed for these pictures. The outside has a few chips and scrapes as shown in the photos. Most notable are a scrape near the passenger side fog lamp (which works fine) and there is a little dent to the left of the trunk. I tried to get pictures of all damage so you know the good and the bad... nothing all that ugly, really.
I have had the chance to test drive this vehicle and it felt good to me. All the power equipment worked properly and the engine felt appropriately strong. The car has not been inspected since it arrived here a couple of days ago and it is therefore being sold "as is."
When a car like this comes in to our dealership, we usually inspect it and perform any work needed -- after which we have a track record selling our cars for top market dollar. Occasionally with a car like this I'll persuade the management to let me list it "as is" on eBay like I am doing now. Since this car passed Virginia inspection five months ago, I think it's a good bet that it will still be good to go. And this way I can offer the car at an exceptionally low Buy-It-Now price (less than a tenth what it's original owner paid!) and an even lower reserve! As we build our eBay business offering some great deals to our customers makes sense -- and it is going to make someone a very happy Saab buyer.
