* 1965 PLYMOUTH SPORT FURY COUPE * Before you and up for bid is my original 1965 Plymouth Sport Fury 383 Commando two door coupe. First year for the redesigned third generation of the now full sized Plymouth Fury line up. The particulars on the Sport Fury are as follows: * One family owned since new, the Sport Fury was ordered, not bought out of existing dealer inventory. (great uncle, 27 years, father, 20 years) * Lifetime garage/barn kept in dry New Mexico & Colorado, not a barn find, as we always knew it was there. * Non-smoker, no pets, no rodent residency. *All original and considered to be the best color combination in bright red with a tuxedo black interior. The Fury had one repaint in the correct factory code red in 1990. * 99% solid throughout, I have gone over the entire car with a magnet and will gladly forward pictures to illustrate this. * All original, matching numbers drivetrain. The factory 2 bbl. carb was replaced in the early 70's with a Holley 2 bbl. It was just rebuilt. * The engine is the original 383 Commando that the car came with from the factory. It was rebuilt in the early 90's and has been driven approximately 6000 miles since then. * Strong running motor with NO annoying drips or leaks. * True 383 Commando, 2V, 270 HP, 9.25-1 compression, (the 4 bbl cars with 10-1 compression were rated @ 330 HP) * Original torque flight 3-speed automatic transmission. Shifts smoothly through all forward gears and reverse. * Dual exhaust...sounds great! * Factory AC equipped, not presently cold, it has not been retrofitted, all components are present. * Fender tag still in place. * All 4 original "spinner hub caps" * Original fender skirts are included. The Fury is a good quality driver and ideal candidate for restoration. The car is solid throughout: floors, frame, frame rails, rockers & door skins. The trunk pan does have some minor rust (see pics). Given the inexpensive nature, I would replace the pan. All glass is original with no cracks or chips. The interior is all original and in good condition: carpets, upholstery along with the door and rear panels. Good kick panels, decent steering wheel, no breaks in the horn rim. Perfect original dash, amazingly, there are NO CRACKS or warping! The original headliner is in great shape with NO tears or separations. Nice packet shelf panel. Weather stripping is decent, however, the window gaskets are starting to show their age. All stalks, buttons and knobs are present. Original Plymouth factory AM radio & antenna. Good center console. The bumpers are in decent shape with a couple of small dents on both & some chrome flaking. The grill is in good shape with only two small rock dings and no breaks. Good body trim throughout with no missing pieces. All Plymouth and related model badges are in place. (Sport Fury, Commando, Plymouth) Recent service included the fuel tank being removed and resealed, the carb was rebuilt, a full tune up, new belts, hoses, fluids, a brake service, new battery, 4 newer tires, shocks, valve cover gaskets and alignment. Original keys, jack and tire tool. Assorted documents, service records and owners manual(s). The Fury starts, idles and drives down the road well, it steers and stops accordingly.
