Vehicle Detail
Hello and Thank You for viewing my auction. Up for bids is a very rare Cadillac that I had big plans for but unfortunately have no time to restore this beautiful car so I am going to pass it on to someone who will give her the proper attention she needs. The Fleetwood was the top of the line model in 1964 and cost around $8000.00 in 1964 dollars. There were not many produced and are very rare to come by today. This Fleetwood has a beautiful and very rare color called "Nile Green" code 36 verified by the trim plate on the firewall. Other interesting information on the trim plate is the "00" code for the trim(interior color) which was special ordered in a contrasting green color like the exterior making this a possible "1 of 1" with this color combination. The 1963 and 1964 are very desirable Fleetwood's but what makes the 1964 cadillac's more desirable is the new "429" engine introduced in 1964 replacing the "390" in 1963. The engine runs really strong and has no leaks. It can sit for 1 month and all you have to do is pump the gas 4 or 5 times and it starts every time! Battery is a little weak but still starts her up. It had a recent tune up with new wires, plugs, cap, fuel pump, belts, fuel filter and much more. The cadillac "Carter" carburetor needs to be rebuilt to make it a dependable every day driver. The odometer shows 12,241 miles and the title says "exceeds mechanical limits" so we can assume it is 112,241 since it is only a 5 digit odometer. The brakes work great and the transmission shifts beautifully. The exhaust system needs to be repaired as it has a broken pipe somewhere in the middle of the car and it is loud. Windshield has a crack in the top center of the windshield(see photo) and does not interfere with the view. You will need to go through and check the fuses/relays/motors as there are some electrical items not functioning. Wipers do not turn on,radio is original but does not turn on,parking lights and brake lights work but headlights do not work. Turn signals work in rear but not in front. Tires will need replaced as some of them have dry rotting. The driver side window and driver side "vent" window both work but all the rest do not and this may be a switch or relay but will need to be tinkered with to work. Now its time to mention the good things about this car. Every piece of trim is here and in nice condition. I also have the individual "FLEETWOOD" letters for the lower front fenders(these are stored in a box and will be included). The body panels are very straight and the only small dent I really see is on the edge of the hood(see picture). Hood is not all rusty on the inside like most are. Trunk lid is not all rusty like most are. The inside of the trunk is in very nice condition for a 50 year old car and I did not paint it so the new owner can see what they have to start off with. All the matching wheel covers are here and in beautiful conditon. The interior is all original with a nice carpet and the most important thing...a beautiful headliner. The leather seats have cracking. All the "real" wood Fleetwood panels are still intact. The door panels will need some repairing. The dash only has one crack right above the glove box door(there are companies out there repairing this now). The Fleetwood is fully loaded including cruise control and twilight sentinel(automatic lights). The original a/c compressor was removed and is in the trunk but all the lines are still connected under the hood. This is the way I received the vehicle and it appears the a/c compressor clutch is locked up. This car deserves a full restoration to bring it back to its former glory or you can fix the carburetor and the exhaust and drive it as is while you restore it. The 1964 Fleetwood is rising in value very quickly and the last one I had in excellent condition sold for $30,000 4years ago and went to Norway. I have a clean (No Salvage) title in my name ready for transfer to the next owner. This is the last year of the "fins" and the old bodystyle with the 325 hp 429 engine and in a "Nile Green" exterior that you may never see again. International bidding is welcomed. I have shipped many collectibles overseas and can answer questions if you have any. If you have any question please do not hesitate to ask. Shipping will be paid for by the buyer. I can however assist in loading on my end if needed. Good Luck and Happy Bidding! On Oct-03-12 at 10:00:42 PDT, seller added the following information: I had an email an email stating this was a deville. This is not a Sedan Deville but rather the much more desirable Fleetwood. The Fleetwood is easily identifiable by the different roof panel, the small "limousine" style rear window and all the stainless trim on the body. Also you will notice all the wood inside the vehicle and the third digit in the vehicle identification is "M" which indicates a "real" Fleetwood 60 Special. If you go to the website VINwiz.com you can verify the information. Thank You for viewing the auction.
