1984 Honda GoldWing Standard In 1984 Honda introduced another upgrade to the tremendously successful Gold Wing series. The GL 1200 was now manufactured with 1,182 cc (72.1 cu in) and the engine was all-new rated at 94 hp. The frame was larger and stiffened for a smoother ride. Full cast aluminum wheels were now installed and on Interstate and Aspencade models the fairing was integrated into the main body, eliminating the appearance that they were added on. 1984 was the last year of the "Standard" model, whose sales had declined in favor of the Interstate and Aspencade models. This also led to the decline of aftermarket manufacturers like Vetter. These so called "naked" bikes have slowly but surely appreciated in value and prices are increasing. They are impressive to look at, yet easy to operate and handle. You are looking at an absolutely beautiful example of a low mileage, well kept motorcycle. Only 13,600 miles since new.
