Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a lovely, well maintained 1997 Lexus LS 400. It has been in our extended family since new. It has been my wife's pride and joy for the last 6 years. It has 250,000 miles on it, but runs and drives great. We have owned several luxury cars over the years (Audi, Cadillac, Jaguar) and this Lexus has been the most reliable and joyful car to own and drive. I can't tell you how many back seat passengers have told us it's like driving in a limo. I have meticulously changed the oil and filter in this car very 2500 miles. I believe that the oil is the engine's lifeblood, and that keeping it clean will extend it's life. It's worked out pretty well so far. While the car is nice for it's age, it is NOT perfect. There are a few small spots where rust has started, and there is a spot on the rear bumper cover that has damage to the paint where someone backed into it. (see pics) Also the driver door has a wrinkle in it where someone bumped into it. The paint on the roof is not as shiny as on the rest of the car. Inside the car is nice and clean, but the driver seat shows some wear on the door side bolster where it's worn through. (see pics). There is a cover on the steering wheel rim because the leather had torn in one spot. The remote door locks do not work properly anymore. Not sure if it is a remote issue, or a servo issue in the doors. The key does unlock the driver door. Also, while the radio works, the digital #s do not read properly. Not an issue when playing either cassette tapes or CDs. On the plus side, IT'S A LEXUS! and there is a custom made wooden shift knob, a brand new battery, and four new tires. The only reason we are selling it is because we just bought a newer Lexus LS 430. I encourage you to set up an appointment to see it.
