Vehicle Detail

I have a 1978 Porsche 928 with 31,908 original miles. This car has been in my family for over 25 years and the last time it was driven was 20 years ago other than the 121 miles ive put on it. My uncle had owned it and decided to sell it to me since I practically grew up with it in his garage just sitting there. This car is almost perfect and would be great in someones collection. The interior is perfect and i mean like no one has even been in it, see the pictures. The exterior is very nice except for one little ding on the driver side rear fender. A body shop said they could pop it out with out doing any body work but, i wasnt sure what to do because i didnt want them to touch or mess up the orginal paint, see the picture. Some of the things Ive had to do, to it to get it road worthy is install new fuel pump, new clutch slave cylinder, new clutch master cylinder, new altenator, new Goodyear Eagle 16" tires, new fuel tank sending unit. As you can see in the pictures it has different Porsche wheels on it. I bought those off of graigslist because i thought the original wheels just didnt set it off. The wheels on it in picture on 17". This auction is for also the orginal wheels with the brand new 16" goodyear tires on them, see picture. This Porsche runs very good no smoking, no engine noise, no leaks. The car is in very good shape there isnt any rust anywhere, even underneath is like it is brand new. It drives straight down the road no pulling in either direction, and when your driving it there is no body noise or suspension noise at all. It has everything original even the porsche cassette player is in it and still works. It has the emergency roadside kit with the spare bulbs still in the back, see picture. The original spare tire is even there with the porsche spare tire air compressor. THE AIR CONDITIONING STILL WORKS-----ICE COLD Now the bad, I bought the car from my Uncle with 31,787 miles and one day, once i got everything fixed on it, I was driving it and decided to reset the odometer while I was driving(i use the trip meter to remind me about oil changes) well i hit the trip meter reset and kept going well i happened to look down a few seconds later and noticed that the odometer was working, it worked when i started driving it. So i driven it straight back home less than a mile. Ive looked on the internet forums and they said that your not supposed to use the trip meter while the car is moving, who knew. it says it breaks a little gear in the odometer, now wheter that is what it is i couldnt tell you but it stopped working as soon as i hit the trip meter. I havent driven the car since, I was going to take dash apart, but havent had time. I havent driven the car at all since it stopped working, I wanted to maintain the integrity of the car, as I think it is a collectable because the condition it is in. I have nine other cars so i didnt need to drive anyways other than the 121 miles ive put on it. It has two cracks in the dash up by the windshield right around the defrost vents in the middle only about two inches long, not really noticable. there is a couple minor chips ( very minor). other than that everything else works and as you can see in pictures it is in very good shape. questions email me ill send you my number On Oct-01-12 at 15:54:38 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello again, recieved a email from someone asking if I had the owners manual. I have the original owner manual, Blaupunkt radio warranty card, Blaupunkt dealer locater booklet( written in foreign languages, Blaupunkt Porsche CR stereo owners manual, Porsche Club of America booklet, and a couple other booklets. I also found a reciept for work being done to it, looks light right side window motor and rear dome light switch, that was my Uncle had done, dated 5-7-1990. it gives the mileage on reciept as 31,610. thanks thought i would add this i forgot in the intial post. thanks doug
