Vehicle Detail
1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme coupe. I inherited this vehicle in August of 1989. My father purchased the car in 1973 after he bought a Dodge Dart and absolutely hated it. He went back to the dealership and traded even on this car. I will do my best to describe the car, unfortunately I do not have a lot of knowledge about older cars. The original color was copper, he repainted it in the late 70's to blue (he painted cars for a living). In or around 1985 he started a body off frame restoration. He sent may hinges, misc parts and frame to New York to be zinc plated or dipped in some kind of liquid that would ensure it would never rust. I was 14 at the time and remember helping load the frame onto the truck. He reassembled the car sometime around 1988and painted it the color it is today. I was 18 when he passed and could not let vehicle go. I sold it to my younger brother about 7-8 years ago. He now has young children as well as I do and it is time to sell. It has been garage kept since 1973. The vehicle starts, rides and drives. The A/C and clock do not work, the clock from I remember never worked right. It has an aftermarket Pioneer stereo with CD player, which I believe is the only thing not original besides the paint. The interior is clean overall with a some rips and tears in the seats, I always kept a sheet on, I removed it for pictures. There is an orange stain on the passenger's side under the floor mat. The back seat dome light is cracked, nothing major, the last time it was replaced it cost me $5.00 at the junk yard. It has starting leaking a little oil, a few drops were on the garage floor when I pulled it out. I talked to my mechanic and he said it probably needs the seals replaced? The vehicle sat for about 3 years without being driven. I took it to my mechanic in the Spring just so it could be driven. I replaced the battery and brakes. It is absolutely road worthy but I would not attempt to drive a long distance until further inspected. The paint has started to fade and there are multiple scratches, I tried to photograph them the best I could. A neighbor friend said a good high speed buff would do wonders. There are some minor rust bubbles starting on the bottom of the door and rear quarter panel. The vinyl top is in decent shape overall but has some rust forming under it. The trunk is in ok shape. The tires are about 2 years old and are in excellent shape. I have done my best to describe everything I know, please e-mail any questions you have. I have had multiple people tell the car is worth this or that, I have decided to let the market determine the price. This vehicle will be sold to the highest bidder unless sold locally. I have a clear clean title in hand. I will accept a $200 deposit via paypal, balance in cash in 7 days. I will accept a cashier's check but please note I will hold the vehicle and title for 21 days, sorry but I have already been burnt once. I have additional pictures, just send your e-mail and I will forward them to you. Thanks and happy bidding!
