Vehicle Detail
Hello and thank you for looking. Good Cabriolet for restoration, rustproofed when new, no rust. Clean CarFax, see picture. Over $1000 spent so far on restoration, including new alternator, strut mounts, struts, shocks, spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor etc. Cabriolet need a new top, an O2 sensor, radio and elbow grease, and you'll have a nice historical VW. If biding exceeds $1200, I will throw in a set of German -made 4x100 Borbet Alloy Wheels, a 300.00 value, as well as a brand spanking new Bentley Manual, a $50 value and a great guide for finishing the restoration. Please ask as many questions as you need, I will be happy to answer them. I am in the military and have a deployment pending and must sell ASAP. I am selling this car as-is with no warranties, either explicit or implied. Thanks for looking! **Note** Update on Monday: Hello everyone. Please read the listing carefully and examine the many pictures I took. This is a nice car for restoration. It starts, drives and stops. Several people have asked me if "...it can be driven to X." Can it? Maybe, I drove it 20 miles on the highway two weeks ago. Would I drive it to X if X was more than 25-35 miles away? No. This Cabriolet requires restoration work. The starting bid is therefore 950 dollars- not much for a nice Cabriolet restoration candidate with zero rust. With a new O2 sensor or fuel pump and new tires, it would make a good get around town summer and fall car. With that, plus a new top, it could be driven all year. As it sits, like any car that is 25 years old that has not been fully restored, driving it long distances is a crap shoot. It may drive 100+ miles, but I probably would not try it without finishing the restoration. Does that help? Please let me know if you need anything else. Thanks!
