(((( WITH JUST 25418 MILES )))) ((SIMPLY PRISTINE IN EVERYWAY)) (( ABSOLUTLY ALL ORIGINAL )) (((MUST BEEN SEEN SUPER RARE DOCUMENTED CAR))) A very limited-edition Spirit of America package was offered in 1974 on Sport Coupe models; primarily an appearance package, it featured white or blue body paint, a white full vinyl top, white upholstery with red or blue trim. As you can see, this fine example comes to you in the most stunning Glacier white with the red interior appointments. The package continues on with color-keyed seat belts and floor mats, special wheel covers, optional white rally wheels, sports-styled dual remote outside rear view mirrors, a vinyl body side molding insert, and red pin-striping. Special fender and dashboard badges announced the package to passers-by and passengers. Chevy also offered Nova and Vega Spirit of America versions with the Impala being the top of the line. Despite the 1973 OPEC Oil Embargo Chevrolet was still selling a lot of America’s favorite family car, the Impala. Like most of the USA, GM and Chevy were gearing up for Bicentennial in 1976. Not wanting to miss out on all the patriotic fever Chevrolet introduced their “Spirit of America” models in 1974. Under the hood you will find the tried and true 350 Small Block V8, Shifting was done by the workhorse turbo 350 automatic. Your suspension was typical large barge American car of the era. More like a boat than a car your Spirit of America Impala floated “like a butterfly”. You could option your Spirit Impala to the hilt with power everything. In most cases these cars came fully loaded. For 1975 GM upgraded all cars to the very excellent HEI type ignition system. The Spirit of America Impala was built between 1974-1976. From day one they have been collectible. Many good examples still survive today.
