For Sale is a Ford factory built 1999 Ford Ranger EV in excellent condition. The body has no rust and only one small dent on the front fender (see picture). Everything works on the vehicle except the odometer which hasn't worked since I bought the truck. I believe the mileage is around 24,000 as I have tracked my use since I purchased it. I have owned and driven this vehicle for the last four years and I am only selling it now because we have purchased two new electric drive vehicles. It comes with a charge station, and NGS tester with the Ranger EV diagnostic card. It has an adapter to charge the truck using the new J1772 standard being used by all the new electric vehicles now being produced including the Leaf, Volt and ImiEV. It has a bed liner, a sliding back window and folding hard bed cap. The truck has lead acid batteries and has been converted from the original 39 8V Panasonic batteries to 26 Powersonic 100AH 12V batteries. The batteries are 3 years old and have lost some of their range. When new the battery pack delivered 60-80 miles range at highway speeds, but now it is 25 miles so the batteries will need to be replaced within the year. A replacement lead acid pack will cost $4000-$6000 and last 4-6 years or the pack can be replaced with Lithium Ion for $7500 - $12,000 with a 10 year life (2000 cycles) and increased range of 70 - 120 miles. I can arrange to have the batteries replaced for the additional cost. These vehicles were recalled and refurbished by Ford and most of them crushed, leaving less than 400 still on the road making this a rare vehicle. Since there are few repairs to expect from an electric vehicle, this truck can is expected to operate for many years to come. I can assist with loading the vehicle for transport.
