This is a rare Bowling Green 1981 Corvette, last year for a 4 speed. It is one of only 1,200 4 speed cars built in Bowling Green that year. This vehicle has been Collector Owned by three Very Discriminating owners. I have been a car collector my whole life and keep high maintenance standards for all my vehicles. I have never driven it in the rain and have always kept it in a climate (temperature/humidity) controlled facility. I am the third owner and the previous owners really took great care of this vehicle,This has always been a fair weather car and always garaged. This '81 is in remarkable shape with the original shiny silver/blue paint. It does have a few small rock chips on the lower rocker panels, a touched up scratch above the right rear wheel well, and the point of the front bumper has a dab of touch up as well. For those Corvette enthusiasts you'll know that 1981 was the first year for Bowling Green Corvettes and Bowling Green cars were far superior to the St. Louis cars in that they instituted a quality 13 step paint process including 3 coats of clear lacquer which still looks like new today. This car has all original decals, all of which are in excellent condition. Another great quality about this car is that the bumpers are not wavy compared to other corvettes that have sat outside. I removed the wheels and restored them to their original lustre before having four new BF Goodrich tires mounted on them. The interior is 100% original and in excellent condition. The seats are remarkable and look like new. This car is mechanically sound; the engine doesn't over heat and has a lot of oil pressure. The clutch and transmission are in excellent condition and work perfectly. There is great history that comes with this Corvette and has incredible documentation including the original window sticker, build sheet and many receipts. All factory owners’ manuals are included with the car. It also has the stainless steel brake caliper upgrade. A few other noteworthy items: This Vette has never been in an accident, all body panels and lines fit beautifully, the original paint is remarkable, the pictures don't do it justice. It has always been babied, and is a real turnkey car. Those who know me know that I am very selective with the cars I include in my collection and have only bought well-cared-for 1 or 2 owner vehicles, this Corvette being one of them. This car has brand new BF Goodrich Comp T/A's with less than 300 miles on them, a new Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo with USB and ipod controls via the deck, along with new Pioneer speakers. none of the wiring was hacked, it was all plug and play. The original Stereo was saved and goes with the car. Also, the power antenna does not work, but a new one is supplied and goes with the car. The undercarriage is rust free. I drove the Vette tonight and this is one solid original car, no rattles, no squeaks or wind leaks. This car was well cared for and it shows, its details like the original window moldings that still retain the original black finish, are in excellent condition. This is indicative of a car that hasn't sat out in the sun. This is a very limited car, for those who don't know the Bowling Green Cars VIN #s last 7 digits started with a 5 and St louis cars started with an S.Please ask any,and all questions prior to bidding and auction end.
