Vehicle Detail
1968 SCOUT 800 4 SPEED Well...there only original once, and this Scout is just that. My father recently saw this Scout sitting in a driveway in the small town of Kerrville Texas. The owner said many people over the years had tried to buy it. But this was the right time to ask, and we were the lucky ones. I wanted to keep her, but a new business start up forces sale. This 1968 International Scout 800 is truly all original with 66k original miles, even the paint is original. I hold receipts on a $2400 engine rebuild and much more paper work on money invested. The Scout features, original paint, no rust issues, rare factory four speed transmission and rebuild four cylinder engine with receipts. Dual fuel tanks, dual factory skid plates, factory radio, IH seat belts, deluxe bullet IH mirrors, full soft top, and full metal hardtop. Also included is a rear hand winch and hoist attachment for the deer hunter in the family. All the gauges work except the fuel gauge, but the horn, headlights, taillights, turn signals, brake lights, and map light all work. The radio and wipers don’t currently. The Scout runs and drives good but will need brake work and the fuel tanks dropped and cleaned or replaced. Plastic replacement fuel tanks are sold on Ebay for around $178 or so. Currently I’m running the Scout on a two gallon fuel cell with a new fuel/vacuum pump. The body and frame are in great shape and very solid. The Scout spent 44 years in Kerrville Texas, there are no found rust issues. (See pics) The body has some minor bumps and scraps here and there. The original owners manual is still in the glove box.
