1969 Camaro Project Factory V8 car. X44 code. Has a non-original 396 BBC with CE code indicating that the engine was a warranty replacement. Only 46 miles since restoration started. This car has been in restoration for almost 3 years and has had no expense spared. Well over $45K invested. Full frame off , complete restoration. I am now out of time to complete due to another matter. Needs only the last few final touches to complete including dash pad, rear seat cover, center console and AC system. I was planning a Vintage Air system for the latter so it has the firewall smoothing plate installed and painted. Engine: 396 freshly rebuilt . This engine is very strong and sounds amazing. Highlights include a Holley Double Pumper carb, Edelbrock RPM Air-gap manifold, Heads machined with 3 angle valve job, MSD HEI distributor with Moroso wires, Comp Cams cam , 1.7:1 Comp Cams rockers, TRW pistons, hooker headers, and Dynomax mufflers with H-pipe exhaust set up. Has a nice lope but is very driveable and idles well. I have the rear “over the axle” pipes but are not installed since I was still undecided on the muffler sound. Also has aluminum air cleaner and fabricated aluminum valve covers. New hi-torque mini-starter , new battery, new high amp polished alternator. TH400 trans with Hughes 2500 Stall. New HD driveshaft. New Champion 3-row aluminum radiator, new electric fan, hoses. Remains in correct temp range on the hottest Texas days. New wiper motor, pump. New 3rd gen fast ratio steering box. Suspension: The front subframe has been media blasted, POR15 coated, topcoated. All new rubber body mounts . The car is lowered 2” and the suspension is all new including tubular upper and lower a-arms, drop spindles and big disc brake kit from CPP . All new idler arm, pitman arm, drag links, springs, shocks. Has a 1” sway bar. Rear suspension is all new including Hotchkis 2” drop leaf springs, shocks, pads, hardware. Has 3rd gen Camaro IROC positraction rear ( not factory 12-bolt ) with 3.23 ratio and 12" disc brakes. Has 1969 15x8 Rally wheels , center caps, trim rings. One trim ring is non matching. New Firestone Firehawk tires. Body: Zero rust , all new body. Every bit of exterior sheet metal on this car is new except roof, rockers, and window frame. Includes new quarters, fenders, doors, dash, 2" cowl hood, floor panels , frame rails, fender wells and fenders, core support , air dam, tail panels, trunk lid and more. Panel replacements were done using industry standard alignment jigs and cross measurement checks. The underside and interior has been painstakingly sealed to factory specs and epoxy coated. All new trim, door handles, mirrors, shark fins, lock sets, spoiler . New taillight bezels and headlights. New windshield and back glass. Trunk has spatter paint per original. Has been painted with rally blue single / double stage acrylic enamel paint. The plan has been to add hockey stick stripes , vinyl top , and then clear-coat the car. This paint can be buffed and left without clearcoat if desired. Interior: Dakota Digital Dash with VHX analog gauges including digital readouts for 0-60 times, ¼ mile, odometer, and alerts. Includes new electrical senders for oil pressure, temp, VSS speed. New American Autowire Classic Update complete harness. Full Dynamat Extreme covered interior for no rattles and great sounding stereo. Retrosound AM / FM stereo with aux input. JBL speakers. All new interior- door panels, rear panels, headliner, pillar molding, visors, mirror, weatherstripping, sill plates, trunk divider and insulation, package tray pad and panel, carpet, knobs,pulls. Has third gen IROC high back buckets for comfort. Could be switched to original low backs as desired. Only needs rear seat frame padded and covered, center console, seat belts ,dash pad and AC.
