Vehicle Detail
1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk with Rare Packard V8 Engine (one year only Packard V8) with only 44,366 Miles, Starts and runs great. This car was built in California (build sheet available) and owned in California until 2003 when it was purchased and brought to Utah. Was last registered in California in 2003. This was driven out of the garage to be photographed and was photographed prior to being washed so its still dusty from storage. Car is all original excepting the tires and wheels, Tail fins are a limited production item for 1956 that was added towards the end of the production year, only a few hundred of these were factory installed for this model year. Original Paint with no major rust, there are a few spots of surface rust but is solid, floorboards are in excellent condition, rockers have a small amount of surface rust but are solid. The windshield does have a crack as well as the drivers side wing vent window. Also will need the idler arm rebushed as it tends to wander a little bit at high speeds. Power steering and all the gauges work, has been stored indoors And has been driven on an off for short distances over the last 8 out of 9 years its been in Utah . Buyer to arrange shipping, Seller can assist with loading if required etc. Up to 30 days to arrange and have shipped. Payment options are 1,) Bank Transfer, Cashiers checks (must clear bank prior to releasing vehicle) or Cash in Person upon pickup. Must be paid in full within 14 days of winning auction, A $500 non refundable paypal deposit is required within 24hrs of winning the auction . We recommend you personally inspect this rare and beautiful car or have someone in a car club or friend etc. that can personally see it to verify it’s excellent original condition. And finally this car is my friends car, I don’t personally know anymore about it other than what I’ve been told, If you have any questions or need additional details please call Roger at 801-560-5466 if you get voice mail please leave a message and calls will be returned. On Sep-19-12 at 11:24:32 PDT, seller added the following information: Just a few comments. This auction for Studebaker Golden Hawk is as is; where is and we described the car to the best of our knowledge, This Car is titled and the vin # is for a 1956 Golden Hawk. It Has the Packard 352 V8 Engine which is the correct engine for a 56, A 57 Golden Hawk would have had a 289 supercharged V8 which this does not. Yes this 56 Golden Hawk has the bigger fins and we believe they were a Factory item added in late 56, Please do your homework people and or personally check this car out for yourself before bidding, and or call Roger for specifics. We Dont offer refunds, the Car is Very Very Solid, You won't be dissapointed, You will however be the proud new owner of a very Rare Bird indeed. On Sep-20-12 at 12:56:38 PDT, seller added the following information: I have scanned the Build sheet, I created a photobucket account with the images of the build sheet Click the link below for them. If you are having problems viewing it send me a message with your email and I can email it directly as well. http://s216.photobucket.com/albums/cc208/jfmadsen/1956%20Studebaker%20Golden%20Hawk/ I will also add a couple more pictures later that I have that did not fit in the origianl add, so check the link every so often. On Sep-20-12 at 14:28:25 PDT, seller added the following information: Just to Clarify, So it appears that the fins were not a factory option on the build sheet? But from what I believe the owner told me is that they were factory installed but obviously maybe just at a later date? Anyway, now the build sheet is available so I hope that answers most of the questions about the car. Also I'm glad I could get a few laughs and eyes rolling from the SDC Crew, I may be ignorant but am open to learning a thing or two as long as it doesn't hurt to much. :) Cheers.
