I bought the car in May of this year in order to get the hard topfor my 1989 Allante. These tops sell used for $ 1500.00 alone. The carhad a bad crank bearing and would have required an entire enginerebuild and a new crank. The car cost $ 58.000.00 new and willbe a highly coveted collectors car in a few years. Few peoplebought them, few could afford them. I located a low mileage Allante engine from a California Allante dealerwith 59 K on it. Shipped it to Kansas City and had it installed with thetransmission. The car now drives down the road at highway speeds.The engine performs as it should for the mileage. The body has a few dings and nicks on the front bumper and the silverfront trim needs attention along with a small rust spot on the top of the wheel well. The body is straight and the car is beautiful to behold. The tan interior needs some TLC and the center console some vinylrepairs. The carpets are fine. Basically this is a nice winter projectfor father and son to tinker with, or just drive it and put it away for thefuture. This car runs and handles beautifully.. Most of the accessoriesand switches work and some don't . An easy fix. This is a very fastcar in the Corvette class but much more luxurious and easier to getin and out. Cadillacs answer to the Mercedes.. This car has both tops, needs TLC but runs and drives like a carwith 59.000 miles.. The actual miles on the odometer are only 121 K.
