John Delorean, a chief engineer with GM in the 60's, took a trip to Italy to see Ferrari's newest creation; the Ferrari 250 GTO. This vehicle was what lead John to put his Pontiac V8's in the Tempest model of their brand. A move that would usher in a new era in the US and lead to what we know as the Pontiac GTO. With the creation of the GTO, the muscle car was born.
This Datsun 260z has been rebodied in a styling of the iconic 250 GTO. The very car that is given credit as the inspiration for what we know as the Muscle car era in America's automotive history. This is in no way the same vehicle as a Ferrari, nor do I want it to be represented as one, but as a tribute to the famous car.
The vehicle has retained many of it's original features including it's 162 hp straight six and dual weber carb setup with the 4 speed manual transmission. The car has a powder coated head and valve cover, finished in the traditional Ferrari red and silvers. With 107,000 miles, the engine and transmission function smoothly and run smoothly.
The body is in fantastic shape and I believe is an Alpha One body. The emblems and stickers are in all the correct locations and furthermore, the interior has a Ferrari MOMO steering wheel. The interior remains primarially stock with the exception of some color matching details to the carpets and the Ferrari MOMO wheel. There are a few minor cosmetic flaws on the interior: A wear spot on the driver seat and a crack in the dash. The stereo system has been upgraded to a Kenwood MDC-3025 CD Player. It has some areas that could be touched up, but is very suitable for a daily use.
The tires on the car have a load of tread life left, the brakes work fantastic and it is a non-smoking car. The vehicle is ready to be driven anywhere or we will cooperate with any shipper, nationwide or world wide.

The remainder is due within 5 days of auction end. If no contact is made within 24 hours we reserve the right to re-list the vehicle, sell it to the next high bidder, or sell it otherwise. Make sure if financing that your financial institution accepts the year and miles of this vehicle before bidding. Please arrange financing prior to bidding.
Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, we will gladly cooperate. You can locate shippers by doing a search for `auto shippers`.
