Vehicle Detail

1967 Coronet Station Wagon - California car that is super solid, straight and rust free, in mostly original paint. It has a couple of dings here and there, but still looks presentable as is, especially if you don't mind the dull original paint look. Trim overall is very nice. Rear bumper rechromed at some point, front bumper nice original but a little cloudy. New repro mirrors and door handles, new dog dish caps on steel wheels. Interior has recovered bench seats, newer carpet, repro armrest bases, nice uncracked steering wheel and dash pad. Overall very presentable and can drive anywhere as is. Very Reliable. Underhood and jambs have been repainted factory color. Nicely detailed under hood with new wiring, battery tray, restored wiper motor, washer jar, new aluminum radiator painted black, new fan, air cleaner, trans cooler. 440 engine: Original, low mile late 70's 440 with fresh fully ported and milled 906 heads (new valve springs to match cam), comp retainers and keepers, shim head gasket (around 9:1 compression), Lunati voodoo cam 234 @.050 / .513 lift hydraulic flat tappet, ported Holley SD intake, newly redone Bigs 850 Holley, MP electronic ign (distributor curved by FBO), chrome box and msd blaster coil painted black, firecore wires, HP exhaust manifolds, newer 2 1/2" full exhaust, New professionally built trans with turbo action reverse manual valve body (shifted via the column shifter), race rebuild kit, 4.2 lever and bolt in sprag, new PTC 9 1/2" 3800 converter, 8 3/4 rear with 3.91 sure grip. Trans has maybe 200 miles on it. Front end rebuilt by previous owner and has perfectly working 4 wheel drums. Recently replaced rear wheel cylinders and new master cylinder. Manual steering and brakes. The good: Car starts up with a couple pumps and will idle all day long and stays cool. Drives straight as an arrow, and has plenty of power. Way more power than one would expect by looking at it. Never raced it, but I would bet this thing could do low 13's, or possibly dip into the 12's. Everything of necessity works including the lights, turn signals, gas gauge, electric rear tail gate window, temp gauge and heat. It also has aftermarket gauges for volt, oil, water temp and tach. The radio does not work. A couple of things I would have liked to do to this car: Dye the seats tan like they should have been (to match the door panels). They are nicely recovered and have good foam, just the color is slightly off. Thanks previous owner. Also, would have liked to give it a nice paint job. As it stands, the previous owner also added some rattle can tan accents to parts of the body to perhaps enhance the original paint look. It actually did a good job of that, and it does look just like dry original paint all over...which I am sure most of it is the original paint, just now with some rattle can accents. Hard to describe, but for all practical purposes this car absolutely looks like it is in original paint. This car would be a perfect daily driver / parts hauler or weekend cruiser. Open the hood and it will be right at home at the cruise nights as well. It likes the cheap gas just fine, although even 87 octane is 4.50 these days~ I reserve the right to end the auction early as I have listed this car locally as well.
