Owned by a Legend in Rock & Roll Music " ROY ORBISON " He owned this car till 1980 and the car was then sold to a lady here in Saint Petersburg Florida. In 1985 it changed hands , purchased by a man here in Tampa Florida and really hasn't seen daylight till we took it out of a Building at his Home. When I first had went to see the car it was pretty dusty,it had been inside a long time, looked the car over, I had made an offer and hadn't heard from the man for months. We recently received a call to finalize the purchase, as he was getting older and wanted to see the car go to a new home. When I sent the flat bed to pick it up , he had it cleaned, we really wanted to picture it as a True Barn Find. We went ahead and pictured it being loaded and got it back to our shops. The mileage is suppose to be correct, it looks to be and was hardly used over the years. We put new valve cover gaskets on it, inside the engine was real clean, another reason to think the mileage was correct. We went ahead a detailed it up, had the brakes re-done, changed the fluids, spark plugs and it seems to run real good, drives fine and is ready to be seen by the Public. Roy Orbison was a Legend for many years, one of the Pioneers of Rock & Roll in the early fifty's and was as big as Elvis Overseas , especially Great Britain. I grew up with Roy Orbison and still an Avid Listener of his music and other Oldies, it was the Best Era there ever was and probably ever will be. We had to pay good money to get this Crown and your going to have to do the same, it just would be Wonderful if a Museum would purchase the car or someone that Loves Car Shows and Roy himself ! We are mounting a Cd Player in the Car with speakers hidden up front ,under the car , with a remote, so his songs can be played while on display by the click of the remote.
