After over 10 years of ownership, I reluctantly offer my first Porsche for sale. Quite simply, I don’t have the room for all of my cars in the garage and driveway. During my ownership, I have performed all the maintenance and upgrades to the car, and have enhanced it wherever I could. This is a great drivers car and I would drive it cross-country without hesitation. I recently re-built the top-end, and the engine and transmission run great. As mentioned, this is a great driver – it is not a concours garage queen but it is in good shape overall! The Good · New 1720cc big-bore pistons and cylinders (~1,500 miles ago)· New re-built 031 Distributor· Higher performing cam (Webcam 86.5)· 14”x6” Fuchs alloy wheels with new tires· Rare ‘Brown’ interior (1968 Porsche color)· Rebuilt split-shaft Solex carbs· Newer Cocomats· 911 Oil pressure and Temp gauge (rather than the dummy 912 gauge). The original will be included with the car· Great shifting 5-speed 901 transmission - shifts smoothly, no grinding· Clock runs!· Original re-built seats· Carpet rear deck mat· Front 13” sway bar from 911· Re-built CV joints· Aftermarket Bursch exhaust – produces a nice deep rumble· Chrome is in overall good condition· Factory tool kit and jack· Newer retractable seat belts· Owners manual as well as the Porsche factory workshop manual included· No cracks in dash· Car cover and color wiring diagram also included72137 milesVIN 12804792Engine Serial 1280527 Not so great · Paint is a 20 footer but shines up nicely. Various small scratches on the paint around the driver’s door and a few on the passenger side. One nickel-sized ding on top of passenger-side fender. A few paint bubbles exist on the lower rockers just behind the front wheels. They have been there for at least 8 years (I know everyone says this but it’s true!). The original color was Bahama Yellow and now is Teal blue.· Some oil drips from the speedo-sensor and rear oil-pump seal. I have the rear oil pump gasket but haven’t installed it.· Drivers-side seat has a repair stitched-up on the seat bottom.· Rust spot under passenger floorpan. When I bought the car the previous owner put a thick layer of fiberglass on the inside of the passenger-side floorpan. It’s still very strong/strong. The driver side has no fiberglass and I POR15’d it over 5 years ago and it is solid. Remember that this is a 44 year-old car that’s a driver quality and not a show car. It shows very well and runs great, but it’s not your garage queen but something that can be driven! The car shifts great throughout the gears, idles well and pull strongly (as strong as a 100+hp engine can pull!). The car is sold "as is". If you have any questions, please email me through eBay or call my number listed below. A non-refundable deposit of US $1,000.00 is required within 48 hours of auction close. Full payment required within 7 days of auction close. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU CAN’T COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION! Those with serious interest can call me at 971-832-3363 or email through the eBay system. Car is for sale elsewhere so I reserve the right to cancel the auction at anytime. On Sep-12-12 at 07:13:17 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention initially that there's a 3/4" crease on the hood (from closing it on something too tall) and there is typical road-rash on the front bumper. If anyone wants to change/remove their bid because of this, I'm OK with that. I've also had quite a few offers to buy the car and end the auction early, but I will not do that and will let the auction run through the end.
