Vehicle Detail

This is a 1929 Model A Shay convertible. Shay was apparently contracted by Ford to produce these in 1980. Please verify that information separately as I am giving this second hand. This car was purchased by me from my father. The title from him lists it as 0 miles, currently the odometer lists 2421 miles. It is not a car that you would drive down the road daily so this makes sense. The car runs excellent and drives excellent. There is nothing wrong with the car from this perspective and very little wrong with it as a whole. The Good: Car runs great and needs nothing to drive it away. I would not hesitate to drive it across country except for the fact that it would not be a comfortable long distance driver. Very low miles on the car. I can only go by what is listed on the title and my fathers information. My father bought it from a dealer that used it for display purposes. When he bought it the car had not been driven at all. He owned it for several years and then I bought it from him. The odometer shows 2421 miles (which may change by a few miles upon sale of the vehicle in the event that I drive it around town at all, but not by more then 10-20 miles). Brand new Clifford alarm system with remote controls. It has a motion sensor that will detect if you are in the car at all regardless of the door being open or closed. So even if someone reaches in to take something from in the car the alarm will go off detecting motion inside the car from just their arm. It also will go off if the car is bumped or if any juice is drawn from the battery. Brand New Stereo system: Kenwood AM/FM CD/DVD stereo system with Polk Audio speakers. This is an under the dash installation so it does not affect the dash board. The speakers are under the seat facing forward. The stereo and alarm were all professionally installed at a cost of 1200+. None of it was installed by amateurs. No significant areas that need to be fixed. The reason I add this is because it is a used vehicle, of course there is a small nick or scratch somewhere, but overall it is in excellent condition. Please look at the photos with great detail and request a viewing of the vehicle prior to bidding if you have any questions or concerns. The Bad: There are a couple small (very small) areas on the convertible top that need to be repaired. I am not a professional but I have been told these can be repaired fairly easily at the shop. Please investigate this yourself if you are uncertain because I am not aware of who to go to for repair. However if you look closely in the photos you will see that they are very small and can be repaired or left and it looks good and will for quite some time. As with most of these cars the motor leaks a little oil. No it does not burn any oil and has excellent oil pressure etc. It simply leaks a little oil. I am not sure from where but possibly the valve cover. The carpet in the front is loose in areas but complete. The same goes for the back (in the rumble seat area). The carpet also seems like it has loose areas in the backing. It looks good and will function fine, but if this continues it may need to be replaced. I believe that when the stereo and alarm was installed they had to pull it back in so many areas that is loosened up. This is a fix that is very inexpensive. If you did it yourself you can buy the carpet and install for about 40 dollars so not that big of a deal. There is a small tear in one of the seats, please see the photos. Also some of the buttons for the additional sections of the top are not attached and or missing. Again very inexpensive fix. The tires all have excellent tread but due to the age have some cracking on the side walls. I believe them to be functional as they are and I have had no problems with them, but I want to be as detailed as possible in the listing. These are also tires that are proper for the car, as a result they are not meant for speed. The car will make it to about 60mph with these tires. The car is in excellent shape and really has no significant problems. I have tried to list everything that I can in this ad. Please look closely at the photos and ask any questions prior to bidding. Please contact me prior to bidding if you have 0 feedback or if you have lower then 90% feedback. Please bid only if you intend to complete this transaction. This is a contract and non-paying bidders will be reported and pursued as this takes time and money to list.
