This absolutly rare 1979 ford ranchero Special Edition Package in one of the best and rarest ranchero's of our time loaded to the max that added $2948.00 to the cost of Ranchero for 79 1/2 Making this the most expensive Ranchero Ford produced. Tuxedo black with red interior-understated luxury. Ford even included a small plaque with new owners initials to be applied to the drivers door upon delivery. Inital plaque is included. Ford built 2195 Special Editions in 79 1/2 in five exterior colors White, grey, silver, red, and black. Only 87 were painted black. All had dark red leather Thunderbird interior. You can spot a Special Edition by the interior trim code SD. Only Special Editions used the SD red leather Thunderbird interior trim code. Factory instrumentation group with tachometer and trip odometer. Interior lamp group. Dual remote control racing mirrors. Red leather wrapped steering wheel. Tilt wheel. Cruise control. Power windows. 6 way power drivers seat. Dual remote control sport mirrors During the restoration we added a few factory correct options, new crager with rasied white letter tires,the Handling/towing package with Saginaw quick ratio steering gear box and rear anti sway bar. Fender mounted cornering lamps and factory am/fm 8 track 4 speaker stereo. Delay wiper system. 6 way power Bucket seats and console. Original split bench seat is included with the sale. Includes factory door plaque emblem for new owners intials. Original 14X6 Magnum 500 wheels are available if needed. Also hidden receiver trailer hitch is available. Detailed undercarraige. Detailed 351W/fmx trans. Thousands of dollars and many man hours make this a stunning example of the most expensive Ranchero Ford produced. Car has been complety disassembled and restored from the frame up. New parts include CHASSIS: Factory 351W Rebuilt Carb, new hoses, gaskets and seals. New spark plugs, rebuilt distributor and wiring. New exhaust with original catylitic converters, All original smog equipment is on the engine. Trans tune up with new filter and fluid. Kicks down into strong passing gear when needed. Shifts smooth and strong. New shocks, brakes and bearings. New front tires. Rear tires are about 50% BODY:Car was stripped to bare metal and epoxy primered. Finished in Urethane enamel with clear coat. All original sheetmetal with 1 fender replaced. Very straight and solid car with original 1/4 panels. Very little body filler was needed. Straightened and detailed and painted inside bed. New Black Valino vinyl roof as factory. No spray on bedliner. Nice black paint .Looks like it has never hauled anything. Rebuilt door hinges. New power window motors. New weatherstrips. Many hours spent stripping, straightening, and polishing all aluminum trim. Beautiful bedrails and tailgate molding. No dents or damage in the factory wide wheel opening molding. INTERIOR: New headliner, carpet, sounddeadner, dashpad, detailed dash and door trim panels with full length armrests and Chrome Ranchero emblems.. Power bucket seats and console. Everything is working as it should except the dash clock . Cold A/C. Working cruise control. Chrome on the bumpers is very good withno rust. Bumpers have all the correct guards and pads.All gauges serviced and bulbs replaced. Heater/AC systems serviced and works great. Car drives and rides like new. Idles smooth and quiet at 500 rpm. Maintains constant 60Lbs. oil pressure.Never smokes, knocks or rattles. No fluid leaks. Compression check shows 100psi on all cylinders. Never fails to start. Very dependable. Drive it everyday, or on long trips Very comfortable and quiet. With the 2.73 rear gear, gas mileage is pretty good, and the 351 has plenty of pulling power. Actual Mileage is unknown.
