I purchased this fine BMW in 2002 from the 1st owner in Florida, flew down and drove it back to Virginia. It had 68,834 miles on it when I registered it in Virginia. Shortly after, I replaced the muffler with a BMW OEM and purchased new tires. Then the odometer stopped working so I attempted to fix that by purchasing a set of new gears. Although that did not work, in the past 10 years I have not driven this car on average more than 2000 miles per year. The odometer says 77257 but I'd guess the mileage is around 85,000 at this point. So, here's the rest of the story on this great car: 1. Mechanically it is in excellent condition, the engine and transmission operate like new. 2. Sunroof, electric windows, mirrors, OEM radio with marine band, fog lights, all work (no leaky sunroof) 3. Tires still have alot of tread on them although I think there may be a "flat spot" on them. Reason for this is right at 60 mph there is a slight shimmy in the steering. 4. AC works, could use a recharge, but the blower only works in the high speed position. This is a common problem and is easy to fix with changing the resistor. 5. Exterior has NO dents at all. However original paint and clear coat has faded and there is surface rust mainly on the roof. SHE NEEDS A PAINT JOB. 6. Interior cloth interior is in excellent condition. A few plastic pieces missing (driver seat belt cover). Also, the dash has a crack from sun hitting it.
