1977 Mercury Bobcat / Jeep Where do you start with a vehicle like this ? 1977 Mercury Bobcat rust free body / original paint still was then mounted the best way possible to a 1976 Jeep CJ chassis. The project is a running driving, clean Az title Bobcat Monster Truck !! The drivetrain is all JEEP still and runs and drives as cool as it looks. The gas in the tank is getting old and my next step was to redo or swap the carb to a Weber, but didnt get that far and its time to move onto another project. Youll notice 2 sets of rims on the vehicle, but it now rides on the 15x10 polished 5 star rims. Tires are old, but okay for just driving to the store. I drive this at least once a week up the street to the store to get lunch and the amount of attention you get is unreal. Every time I take it out I spend more time talking about it and people want to take pics with it. Its fun. Sitting at a light, everyone has their cellphones out taking pictures and you get thumbs up from everyone. Some rare stuff on the Bobcat are its aluminum f/r bumpers and all glass rear hatch. Originally the car even had AC. The motor runs well but the carb I think is ready to be replaced or rebuilt. Smokes a little after sitting a few weeks which I think would be valve seals (carb running rich isnt helping) Trans . 4x4 stuff and clutch feel fine. Ft locking hubs. INTERIOR: pretty nice shape, needs finishing but winner could do it in the way he or she wanted. Windows rattle on both ft doors because the weatherstripping was removed. Obviously its needs other stuff you can see in the pics. No Rust on the floors inside or out other then mild surface. Jeep Speedo works as do the other aftermarket gauges. BODY: paint looks to be 100% original meaning no bondo. ALOT of hours and time where spent doing the conversion and both donar vehicles where in great shape where they needed to be. You could never build this for what our reserve is. Park this in front of your business if you want to draw attention and bring in more business, and on the weekends take it out to the trails and do some 4 wheeling with it. Az has plenty of places to go over-roading and showing up in this only brings smiles to everyone around you. Check out the pics.
