1998 BMW 740IL This was my parents car they kept at there vacation condo in Florida, it has always been registered in NY as the carfax will show, but it has spent the last 6 years in a garage at the condo building in FL. They sold the condo and I picked up the car and drove it to GA. Listed is everything I know, good and bad. First Off, we have no idea what the mileage is as the digital display above the steering wheel needs to be replaced to read clearly, I guessed at 200k, but I have no clue what the true mileage is, the engine runs very good and the AC is very cold. The car is still very fast. No smoke or anything like that, as I said it runs good. The back driver window does not work, it is tightly closed, but something is wrong with it. The tranny works in manual mode very well, but slips occasionally if you run it in automatic mode, it seems the overdrive does not work right. I drove it up from florida and my wife has driven it over the past year in manual mode with no problems. The only thing it started doing recently is a rear wobble when you get up around 60mph, probably rear tires need to be replaced as they are pretty old, front ones seem to be fine with a good amount of tread on them still. the interior sunroof liner needs to be put back on, you can see it in the pics, I feared I would put to much glue on it and mess it up, but as you can see the liner is included. glove box doesn t open. a full spare that holds air as shown in the pic is included. Stereo works. The rest of the power windows work. Power sunroof works in all directions. Power seats on both sides work. Heated Seats work. Power Mirrors work. The center computer display is still legible, (miles to empty etc...) Car can be seen and driven, I still have it registered and insured. Air Bag light is on. as I said above 200k is a guess, I have no clue and no way of finding out, as I am not willing to spend the money on changing the dash readout, perhaps there is another way to tell, if anyone know a way of checking it some other way, I will be glad to do it.
